Samsung LN52A550P3F Thick Vertical lines on Right Side of Screen

Does it look like this? Mine just started doing this today. The lines change color related to the broadcast underneath and then finally it gets stuck on one pattern for a while.

Try re-seating the LVDS cables, then the ribbon cables from the T-conn. to the panel.

I've done some research and still can't quite figure out if my issue is repairable or not. It's definitely intermittent and the picture does come back sometimes, but always fails again. When it is working it looks perfect, but then breaks up again.

I have the same issue with mine, except mine is the right third of the screen. The picture will be fine for about 10 seconds after start up, then it goes to the vertical lines/black and back and forth.

I found somewhere else that it means the LCD panel itself is going bad, but my assumption would be that if the panel were going out, it would be the whole panel, not just part of it. But I'm new to the tv repair scene. Any insight would be great!

Follow up: I got it back together and it will work intermittently/most of the time. If I turn on my xbox or another source, it will flicker/scramble the color/image. This ring any bells for anyone out there?

Mine is the same. I reseated the ribbon cables and it worked for about 20 minutes then went back to the lines and now works intermittently like your guys'. I found a couple answers from 'tv experts' online that say It's the lcd panel failing. I think I'm going to call Samsung tomorrow and see what they have to say about the situation.

If the panel is failing why does it continue to pass a video signal? Granted it's wrong, but all the pixels are lit up. It seems more logical that it's getting only half the signal properly from whatever the faulty board is. Buddy of mine said to buy a bottle of cold air and spray it over each board and see if that temporarily fixes it when you've found the faulty board.

I called Samsung and they just referred me to their authorized service center. Anybody know what a housecall costs?

Took the back off and reseated some boards. Also sprayed cold air on components - no luck. Doesn't seem to be a thermal issue. Here's what it looks like:

I am having the same issue but mine is/was still under warranty by Newegg(extended warranty). They sent a repair man out and said it could be 1 of 2 parts. He said he would replace the LCD Controller first but the part was pretty expensive $800+. Newegg decided to buy me out of the warranty($1400 ) so I'm going to try and fix it myself. Only because I found the part new on ebay for $62 shipped to my house. I Looked up "Samsung LN52A550P3FXZA LCD Controller Prt# FHD60C4LV0.3" on ebay Its not in yet but I will let you guys know if it fixes the issue. I haven't found the 2nd part because I can't remember what it was called. I know where it is in the TV but I haven't looked since ordering the 1st. Hopefully it won't matter and my TV will work great. It is scheduled to get here Friday, I'll let everyone know this weekend.

So what happened after replacing the part? Did it work?

So did anyone find a fix for this problem?

FHD60C4LV0.3 is available and I am going to order it but before I do it would be nice to hear that someone actually ordered the new board, installed it, and it fixed this issue.
