FWIW... Sarah Shahi is scheduled to appear on "The Talk" today . . .
Speaking of Sarah, I just watched that Stallone movie "Bullet to the Head" last night and she had a nice, but very brief scene where you got a glimpse of the goods. biggrin.gif

I guess I'm a sucker for guilty pleasures but I really enjoyed this week's show despite its towering silliness. This wasn't the first time the show got slapstick featuring John throwing bad guys through windows , or otherwise beating them to a pulp, or, as was the case with the arrogant dweeb who wouldn't get off his cell phone, popping one because he is obnoxious. smile.gif I too hope they bring back the little actress who played the blonde flight attendant. She was a lot of fun.

Would "Baby Blue" (the one where John has an infant that's the POI strapped to his chest) count as one of those "whimsical" episodes?
yesterday's episode was really lousy, it was like a fan fiction version of a POI episode written by someone with no talent. biggrin.gif

Oceans Four .. ??

They should make the Chinese woman part of the "team"

And I thought the final scene was kinda touching ..

Aside from the initial quips between Shaw & John, I agree that this was a definite sub-par episode. They can't all be great but this one really was way below average.

POI needs to get back to its Root.

Yeah I also thought they would recruit the gymnast instead of just telling her "be a mother with no job or experience, thanks, bye"

I guess Finch could place her in one of his businesses

I still don't know how did make it out when the thief grabbed the Bible and was inside the cage? they just run for it?

I'm not even sure how they got out.

Wasn't there only one way in or out of the room?

I wondered too .. clutching a giant Bible, with no backpack to put it in, how could she have gymnasted her way out of the cage .. ??

We'll never know .. wink.gif

That and John's sudden rescue of the girl held who knows where just synchronized with Mom's meeting with the baddie epitomizes the "24 style" liberties the writers often take with the show. It works when it's a great episode. You ignore it because there's so much awesomeness happening elsewhere. I'm good with that. But in a sub par episode like last night's it sticks out.

I think last night's episode was still better than that "snakes on a plane" episode a few weeks ago . . . eek.gif

I really appreciate that the effects of Carter's death are still resonating. Too many shows forget about major traumas--mental or physical--by the next episode.

That was one of my favorite episodes ever

I can usually roll with most anything but the gymnastics bars were a stretch. I keep thinking really...

Maybe, but it was silver medal talent. That's like young actor winning a Young Artist award instead of a real Oscar. Of course, that would make Bronze a People's Choice Award...she most definitely wouldn't have made it out of there then.... wink.gif

On the other hand, with a gold medal, she probably would have shot-putted the bible out of the cage so Shaw could catch it....wink.gif

Was there an explanation I missed of how they knew where to send John to get the child?
Shaw in a tight white dress was enough to sell me on the episode. biggrin.gif

Not that I saw/heard.
That's typical of the 24 style shortcuts POI writers take on the action adventure aspects of the show. Sometimes approaches comic book style.
I like the actors/characters, and The Machine underlying mystery best. When it's just rescue of the week procedural without the other aspects POI is just OK.

That was the fastest flight from the US to Asia I've seen, they must been a Jet waiting for John at the airportready to take off and flight at supersonic speeds to make it, so we assuming a day passed between snatching the Bible and the delivery of the same to the bad guy right? (they took the bible at night and it was delivered also at night)

^^^
Don't be silly... the Teleporter from Star Trek was used. biggrin.gif

Not 100% sure but I thought I heard both that the girl was somewhere in Europe (the bad guys were from Europe) and somebody told John there was a private jet waiting at the airport. It still would have taken 6-7 h each way plus time on the ground.

I thought the episode was rather boring. I guess I'm wanting more of Root, the government peeps, and the others and the "ordinary" episodes just become boring when there's no tie-in to any of those.

NEWS FLASH --- CBS adds a remake of the 1960's series BATMAN to the line up. The program stars Harold Finch as billionaire Bruce Wayne and John Reese as his faithful companion Robin. The bat mobile returns as herself.

WHAM
BOOM
BANG
SIZZLE (the electric fence)

/end humor
/end sarcasm
/end suspension of disbelief

So, that would probably make Shaw Batgirl and of course Root would be Catwoman.
Would Fusco then be Commissioner Gordon? biggrin.gif
