OT here. Does anyone think Fusco looks like Paulie from the Dan Parick show?

Amy Acker is not only very hot she pulled off the character switch very well. She has lost a lot of weight since Doll House. Reese's face during his session with her at the beginning was terrific.... Very good show and a great season finale... Well done...

Batman show was great! Needs a new opening theme next year!

Awesome Finale!

Yup, there was a little bit of everything going on. As Bill Murray said in 'Tootsie', "That is one nutty hospital".

Out of all of the new shows from the 2011/2012 TV season, this one is definitely my favorite. It is just an enjoyable fun ride every week. Great stuff!! And Paige Turco - yum! And Amy Acker - yum!

Amy Acker seems to be the go-to girl for all genre shows.

I geuss we are supposed to think that the Machine is an AI. Another possibility is tha Ingram isn't dead and he's distributing the numbers. We never saw him go.

I kept wondering why the FBI failed to see the HR gang planting the explosives but saw Reese and the Doc at every turn.

Beginning to wonder if the Machine is morphing into something like the one in X-Files that could just exist anywhere.

Great new series!

10 min into this new episode and I wanted to login and say I wish Paige Turco would become a series regular. Okay back to it...

Seems like they got the Scoobie team ready to tackle getting Finch back next season!

GREAT Season Finale!

I just re-watched the season finale. Some additional thoughts.

ROOT could be working with Elias or she is rogue CIA since neither Elias' crew nor the CIA were in this episode directly that we know of. It is assumed that when John answers the phone it is The Machine. It could be ROOT. It could be Elias.

Now that Carter and Fusco know about each other, the door is now open for Reese, Zoe Morgan, Carter and Fusco go after ROOT and whomever she is working for to recover Finch. The numbers become secondary at this point. Zoe has the computer skill and connections for intel, Carter and Fusco have the law enforcement research and Reese has the balls to the get the job done.

Next season could be partially or completely on the trail of Finch and his recovery. We all have all said that the number a week thing is a good start, but it can't last as the sole reason for the show. It will get boring. Now, they have set up several plot lines to augment that and it could take the show for several seasons if they decided to not introduce any other plot lines (highly doubtful).

Cool thing is everyone, including the producers and writers are all on the same page with us, the audience. Until next season's episodes are written and produced, no one knows what will happen. That is kinda cool, IMHO.

add in the fact that Reese's old CIA partner is also in Da wind as well .... Next season will be great this & other plot arcs will ebb & flow in all directions
But I agree the #1 mission statement by the 4 major players now is to recover Finch !!
looks to be a Real Rollercoaster of a Ride ahead ... I myself look Forward to next Season , this show is now firmly in my #1 "Position of Interest"* Next Season !!

* Bad Pun Intended !

foxeng -- I agree that the writers did a nice job of wrapping up the season and leaving us wanting more. I can't imagine that Finch is going to remain as Root's captive for very long. My opinion is based on a practical consideration: much if not most of the show's magic has sprung from the wonderful chemistry between Michael Emerson's Finch and Jim Caviezel's Reese. I can't imagine that the writers want to wait very long before getting the boys back together so that the magic can resume. Their nearly continuous telephone conversations while the world around them has been in chaos have been a hoot.

I agree with the consensus here that this was a truly terrific season with an ending episode that was non-stop intriguing and exciting. I also agree about Finch and Reese being so good together that I can't imagine Finch being captive the whole of next season. Amy Acker has been a favorite since her Angel days and was a welcome addition in this wrap up story. Lots of ways this can go, which was the case all season - and that was the key to its success for me. I'm not a procedural fan, but this had so much more going for it and they cleverly developed it as the season went on. Very much looking forward to the new season this fall.

I think if Finch is not back to safety by the end of the Season 2 premiere I'm probably going to bail out of this series.

I agree though that one number per week can't be the basis any longer given what's been revealed. They're going to need to settle into some new normal shortly into the new season.

While I don't want S2 to develop into terribly long arc of Find Finch, I have confidence the showrunner will continue to interweave the procedural aspects into multiple arcs...again...Finch being one of them. I doubt if the Machine will stop spitting numbers. I see the team expanding. Wouldn't be surprised if Reese's ex-partner gets recruited. I also wouldn't be surprised if she's setup as Reese's arch enemy or in league with Root. So many possiblities...

Good finale!

The Machine is turning into Skynet. Beware!

Also love the fact that Amy Acker must be back for at least the first episode. I'll watch anything she is in.

Yikes! You don't suppose that Amy Acker's Root is a demon or a vampire do you?

What I got from that was that The Machine already IS "Skynet" and essentially has been from the get go - we just had it confirmed for us in the final moments.

I'd like to know what was on the other end of Reese's pay phone call from said Machine - maybe we'll learn this in the fall.
I think that pay phone is the one Finch uses to get the SS numbers from the Machine, I think Reese knew when he was following around 2 eps ago..
Yeah ,Reese has figured out that is the link that Finch uses to access the Machine . that's why he went there & looked up in to the camera as he was talking directly to the Machine asking for it's help in recovering Finch . Reese knows that the Machine has a vested interest to get Finch back as the Machine is in peril if the norm is not restored .

I believe he was forcing the computer to find Finch, he looked pretty serious about that. lol
post #657 of 2031
and I think Finch uses that method of getting the numbers, he couldn't build a backdoor to the system, it only programmed it to give the numbers a certain way and only one-sided so no one could hack into the machine.

Reese is SO Batman that he can intimidate Skynet! Love it. Love the actor. (In a manly man sorta way)

At first I came close to bailing on this show. I'm so glad that I was desperate for something to watch that I stuck with it. Writers are really in the grove.
I haven't seen those stupid Dark Knight Batman movies so I TRY not to think about that...
Why didn't the machine warn Finch he was in danger?
