CRT TV has overlapped images and curves in the corners

Sony KP-53HS30

I just started having display problems today. The TV is 9 years old. My impulse is to just buy a new one but I figure I should at least see what can be done to fix this. The display has distorted colors with some images appearing over lapped, the top left and bottom right corners have curves in the image and have a lot of red and blue. It looks like the old blue/red 3D with out the glasses. Here are some pictures. Any advice is appreciated. If there is a DIY fix for under $100 I will attempt it. If it needs to be serviced by a pro or costs too much I will start looking at new TV's.

If you need any more info just ask.

I have already tried the flash focus and manually going into the service menu and trying to adjust the convergence settings.

Bad convergence amps and fuses.

Fairly common repair with any later RPTV.

Look in the stickys at the top. Your set will be similar to other brands. The only real difference with the Sony's is they will often blow a pico-fuse in the power supply also.

Good luck,
Jim
