3D tv buying help

Hi,

My last purchase was a vizio 32 in 08, so now wife wants a bigger screen. So thinking of buying a 55" tv. I am thinking since I buying a new tv might as well buy a 3D tv.

Since, I am new to the market, which brands should I be looking at which has less problems. Also, I am not a videophile so I would be satisfied with any new upgrade from the 32 lcd I have currently.

What I care about is if I get 3d, will the 3d content be good?
Will I be able to lay down on the couch and watch 3d, I had read somewhere that you have to sit upright to watch 3d.

I wear glasses, and wearing 3d glasses on top of my glasses will that be a problem?

Also, I have a budget of $1500, what options do I have.

Most would agree, you really need a large screen to appreciate 3D.

55" is probably the smallest effective size for 3D. I personally wouldn't recommend anything under 60". Yes, you can lay down to watch, and most 3D glasses are sized to fit over prescription glasses. I would recommend the Mitsubishi 3D DLPs, especially for 3D. LED/LCDs and plasmas are known for crosstalk (ghosting) in 3D because the pixels either don't switch fast enough (LCD), or don't decay fast enough (plasma). DLPs have a great picture with no ghosting, and are reasonably priced, especially for their size. More info here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1340721

Here are a few sets to consider. Delivery is included in price.

I own the panasonic plasma tcp50gt25. its an awesome tv. its a 50 inch and that is a fine size. I know that you are interested in led only. however I have read that plasmas are the best for 3d.

That wasn't mentioned in your original post. In fact:

Sorry, and good luck with your research.
