Man, why do we keep going through this black thing? I am fairly new to front projection so this is killing me. You will never get a blacker black than your screen will allow under the conditions that you watch. IOWs just look at the screen with the PJ off under the conditions you plan to watch. That is as black as it can get. Now funny thing happened on the way to the show, a PJ with good contrast can make the blacks look pretty dark because of that contrast. We all know it is not really black but high contrast units trick you into believing that and that is why we can watch them because the darkest colors are not really black. Most screens can never do that. Wait, none of them can do that except under total blackout conditions.
