This is what I fear though cuz if the movie was made for PG13 then we will just get a half-ass R/Unrated video release ala Die Hard 4. However, if it was made for R first and then cut down for the theatrical release in PG13 then the home version would be okay, I guess.

Still sucks. Super lame. What's the point? This series is all about edgy, old school rated R action goodness. Ugh.

going off topic a bit, but I still don't understand why the unrated version hasn't made it to Blu-ray yet if I'm not mistaken only the dvd (which is the version I own) was unrated right?

Yup. This used to piss me off but I've grown to like the PG13 version a bit. Most of the dialog changes in the Unrated version are horrible. I mean, atrociously stupid changes. However, as a long time fan of Die Hard, each time there is an F-bomb from Bruce Willis it just sounds 'right' and more natural. I'm not that type that needs a ton of cussing in movies but John McClaine has a dirty mouth and has always dropped the F-bomb in the three other DH movies. [/rant]

So yes... still no Unrated version of that on BD.

Awhile back one of the movie channels aired an old 80's Chuck Norris movie, Invasion U.S.A. Chuck had one of the greatest lines in cinematic history. Norris addressing one of the bad guys, "come in here again and I'll hit you with so many rights you'll beg for a left." Bring back the awesomeness, Chuck.

I finally got around to watching the first one last night, and LOL... what a waste of pretty much everything. The action sucked, the acting sucked, the story sucked, the directing sucked, the editing sucked, the CGI sucked, the cast sucked, the cameos sucked, and even the music sucked. Just awful with the only redeeming qualities being the two gorgeous supporting actresses and Terry Crews.

What I loved about it though, is that it pretty much enforces the fact that nostalgia is primary reason for people's affection for older, cheesy, crappy 80s movies. This movie is 80s action filmmaking transported to the modern era. Watching this movie as a young man in the 80s would've been amazing and any of us would've probably reflected on it 30 years later as another one of those "awesome 80s action flicks" a la Commando, Predator, Rambo, etc. Watching it in contemporary times as a grown man it is downright laughable... just like the actual 80s action flicks this film is molded from.

Suffice to say, if any of you enjoyed it.. more power to you. Personally though, I won't even be renting this sequel.

Not much I can say to your comment other than...."WOW!"..Im sure "The Notebook" is on Lifetime if you need something more your speed..

As a fan of many of these 80's movies, I can't really disagree with your assessment of the Expendables.

But, is still cool the idea of all these icons together.
