ok so i'm not MM... although some have thought i was his alter ego

sintra vs 1/4 hardboard melamine from menards...
weight.
both materials can be used as free standing... well almost... as in neither requires a frame to be built. they both have the same surface texture on both sides and readily accepts being sprayed. but sintra is half the weight as the 1/4 hardboard melanmine. 6mm sintra is about 15-18lbs.
now with respects to TWH vs 1/4 melamine from menards...
surface texture and weight.
also, the 1/4 melamine hardboard from menards is not prone to warping.
by order of merit:
1) weight and size. lightest in weight and available up to 6'x10' for 130+" screen
2) 1/4 inch melamine from menards. heavier than TWH but also more free standing and not prone to warp. max size 49 x 97 for almost 100" diagonal. surface more similiar to sintra.
3) TWH. baby but smooth spraying surface. max 48 x 96 for 97" diagonal.
and for the Made in the USA folks...
Sintra - is the USA brand. Komatex is the import.
