Receiver preout question...

I have a pioneer sc-37 reciever and was wondering if it's possible and safe to split the preout for the center channel? I'd like to split it so the center channel out from the reciever can drive two separate speakers in stereo. Is there any drawbacks to doing this?

Why would you think it's a good idea?

It wouldn't actually be a stereo mix, and provided your amp could use it, sure. People do this for subs a lot without issue.

Two center channel speakers are generally not a good idea. What are you trying to accomplish?

With two center channels you could get some comb filtering.
