Advanced MPC-HC Setup Guide - Page 56

I just move the mouse up into the corner and it disappears...

im not sure about the menu displaying under the media player.

Try to launch MPC HC stand alone and see if you have those issues.

I turned off subtitles in LAV Splitter but they still show up in the movie. What should I do frown.gif

Roll back to a nightly build before 1.6.6.6538.

That means MPC still has them on, right click, subtitles, click enable subtitles to that it's turned off.
There is a bug in recent MPC builds that overrides LAV splitter settings when LAV disables subs if they are not needed and MPC shows them anyway. nev has isolated it to builds after 6538 and pointed it out to the MPC team. The MPC developer appears to be in no hurry to fix it.

This is why I don't update. I've been running the same version of MPC-HC, LAV and madVR for over a year, almost two actually, and don't have any problems. That said, I'd like to upgrade if there's a compelling reason to do so.

When I load it stand alone I still have the issue with the mouse but I can access the menus with a right click, it also displays the mpc hc window. With the stand alone player software can also hide my mouse but as an external player the mouse is still visible.

Josh...

Did you put this command line in the media browser settings?

"{0}" /fullscreen /close

look at this post
http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/2086/mpc-hc-external-player-tips-tricks

scroll to the picture where you see configure external player... in the optional parameters you should put this:{0}" /fullscreen /close

make sure you do it exactly with no extra spaces etc... do not cut and paste type it so you are 100% sure

i dont understand the output of ffdshow audio

in the input it says: Dolby true HD 6759 Kpbs
the out put is: HDMI Bitstream 1402

I never see the Dolby True HD light up on my RCVR. Should I not output the same as the input?

I am using the Intel HDMI Audio Driver and I am using the Asrock H67m Core I3 MB

I have the HTPC connected to the RCVR via HDMI and the ouput of RCVR HDMI to plasma.

in MPC-HC i have all the pass through DTS, TRUE HD ticked.....

This is no longer a problem for me, no changes made so not sure what the cause was. Maybe just a reboot needed?

Can LAV Bitstream pcm? I had Disney's Cars playing on mpc but my amp only showed dolby pro logic. frown.gif
post #1662 of 2897
There is no such thing as "bitstream" for PCM. Bitstreaming is only for compressed formats, PCM is not compressed.

Anthony, how are your speakers set up in windows? If they are set to stereo, you won't get multi channel PCM on your receiver. Sounds like your receiver is getting stereo and applying pro logic to it.

Will an I3-2120T be fast enough for MPC-HD with reclock and everything else?
They were set to surround....
My reciever is odd... it never changes the display on the front to Dolby True HD, DTS, PCM, LPCM no matter what format the decoder says it is outputting... it always just says 'PC'. This annoys me so much.
That does seem odd, do you have a PC input? I think when I use HDMI ARC on my receiver (RX-V667) it says TV as the input but it will still show the codec or PCM. From my PC it usually shows PCM unless a movie is playing back and bitstreaming (via HDMI) then it will display whatever encoding the audio track is.

AFAIR, albain tried to implement bitstream for LPCM tracks (and found he needs to swap endian after splitter).
LPCM is just plain PCM in big-endian. Once you swap that to little-endian, its exactly the same as plain decoded audio, so there is simply nothing to bitstream.
Bitstreaming is about passing compressed audio to the AVR, but LPCM is not compressed, so this does not apply. There is simply no standard for "bitstreaming LPCM", because LPCM is just uncompressed PCM, you can already pass that over HDMI without any difficulties. If you want to "bitstream" LPCM, just get a WASAPI audio renderer in exclusive mode, sit back and enjoy.
I assume there is just no other option to pass LPCM over windows audio mixer untouched but to force player to use WASAPI Excl somehow. I mean media streaming apps are often limited in that point.
BTW, is it possible to bitstream DTS-HD with fake DTS header? I mean if you can pass DTS with WAV header, why not fool same way S/PDIF or XP's sound system with DTS-HD for example?
DTS-HD has a too high bitrate to fit into a normal DTS stream, which means the audio device needs to handle it differently to have enough room, and that needs driver/audio renderer support.
Not to mention that the receiving device would most likely not understand what you're sending it.
Hi All.

WOW, this is a HUGE thread!

I am using Win7 Ultimate MCE. From there I use Media Browser to manage my collection. All my rips are the complete disc in the original folder structure (basically a 1-for-1 copy). After selecting a movie, MB uses MPC-HC (was using TMT5, but certain Blurays don't play well with TMT5; Hence the switch to MPC-HC). MPC seems to launch the movie directly, skipping over all the trailers and menu. This is fine in the majority of cases, but I have not figured out how to get to the main menu of a disc with MPC. I cannot select any of the additional feature on the disc. Some discs (Daybreakers for example) only play the features and NOT the movie???? And since I cannot seem to access any sort of menu in MPC, I cannot actually watch the movie in those cases.

Any suggestions?
MB3, due in April is supposed to fix this for you/us.
OH, so it is actually a known bug/issue?

Here I thought it was just me not being able to find the right combo of options......

Is there any sort of temp workaround? Are there any links or search criteria to read more about Media Browser 3?

THX!!!!!
About MB3: http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/13138/introducing-media-browser-3

Just note that it won't magically give you access to the Blu-ray Menu, it will just add the special features to its own navigation.
AH. TY for the link.

SO, is there ANY way now, or in the foreseeable future to access a Bluray menu with MPC-HC ?
Everything I've read says a retail software is required if you want BD menu access. I didn't know MPC could access special features on BD either.
Some people enjoy thumbing through menus, watching special features, FBI warnings and trailers before they can watch the movie. I OTOH do not have time for this and am happy to watch just the movie.
Like you sammy I don't want access to those either.

However for rms8, he might want to try xbmc (I believe it provides access to all playlists on a full disc rip, which although not identifying the actual list by name, does give the option to choose something other than the main movie). Not ideal but better than no access at all.
The best choice for that is using a stand alone Blu-ray player. My circa 2007 Samsung BD-P2500 is in standby just an activity click away on my H-900 remote. It is lonely though, only getting used once a month or so.
