I am trying to help a friend who doesnt have too much computer knowledge.
He currently has an HP computer with intel i5 750 (2.66GHZ)
and a Geforce GT 320 GPU(72 CUDA cores)
see here for GPU details
it is outputting to an Onkyo TX-NR609 av receiver and then onto a Sony 46inch LCD
with 6.1 surround sound speaker set up..ie one back centre surround speaker and a Sub woofer
At the moment he is using MPHC with FFdshow for both audio and video decoding
and EVR for rendering
He also has TMT3 installed.
He plays a lot of old movies which are only available as DVDs...ripped as Video_TS to hard drives
..along with Blurays
also ripped to MKVs.
Now that Lav Filters and MADVR have progressed to quite an advanced stage
I am thinking of installing this setup instead.
From what I understand this video card GT320 is a DirectX 10.1 card
and as such only supports the following audio output:
able to bitstream AC3 and DTS
7.1 LPCM output
With this hardware setup in mind
is simply installing LAV filters and MadVR okay?
ie dont need ReClock anymore??
after installing LAV Filters I assume I would check bitstreaming under LAV audio for DTS and AC3?
and CUVID for LAV video?
what about for MADVR ? should we just leave it at default settings given his Video card specs?
also playing DVDs with MADVR...is there any setting I need to tick?
or does the latest do it out of the box?
With this GPU I assume LAV video will decode the Dolby True HD to PCM?
what about DTS HDMA?
do I need to use the TMT3 dll for that?
Last question..I think he is using NVIDIA driver version 269 or 8 something
is there any necessity to upgrade if this is stable at the moment??Edited by devoz - 4/11/13 at 9:47pm
