that might have been an mpc hc problem, and it's probably fixed with the new stable version that is out now.
reclock is pretty good, I just need to figure out how to explain what it does and the prerequisites for it in a good way.
I think I'll add it as an optional section near the end soon.

Make sure you have auto load subtitles on in mpc hc (options>playback). You can tweak the subtitle selecting logic in lav splitter. You can read about it at http://1f0.de/lav-splitter/lav-splitter-stream-selection/
, in the advanced section. I put "eng:eng|f;eng:off;*:eng" in, which translates to "if english audio, then forced english subs; if english audio, then no subs; if any other language of audio, then english subs", so that should have you covered mostly.

For subtitles I changed 'advanced' to 'only forced subtitles' and now it actually shows forced subtitles. But not as fancy as your advanced script. But it works.
Enabled mixer for audio to get louder sound.
Other than that I followed the guide exactly and couldn't be happier
Yea, that is a good point that i didn't get into. There is postprocessing you can do with the shaders in mpc hc, especially with janwillem's builds.
For subs, yea, again, you can tweak what to put in. My instructions should work already for forced english subs.
Now, this mixer thing is weird, because multiple people have said that it helped them to do a downmix in the decoder, but I don't understand why. Windows should already mix to what you select in control panel before the sound device gets it, so mixing in lav audio shouldn't be necessary with the default audio renderer.Edited by MlNDBOMB - 6/17/13 at 9:56am
