The JVC has spoiled me, because it's out of the box image settings are very much to my liking, especially the contrast and color saturation. Except for red, that is, which is almost always too hot. And the resolution of the JVC is stunning, IMO. I'm going to have to work a lot harder to get the look I like with the Panasonic. Fortunately, the manual controls are extensive, and from skimming the manual, it looks as though there are plenty of ways to dial it in. And of course you can tweak it extensively in post if need be. As long as the image isn't too soft on the Z10k, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with it.
