that if something at 1st bothers me step back and evaluate the situation then make a judgment call. None of us new owners paid anything
close to what alot of people paid for these displays. I persaonally am going to need a LCD type display in the mountains with high elevation.
There is no way the money I spent on my new 60x5 is going to buy me a better new display. All of these LCD type displays can and do suffer from
DSE, some more than others. Ghosting is another issue and the elites seem to do exeptional in this area.
I agree 100% Baron2. I think hearing others with the same issue does help me. If every person was posting to my replies stating their screen was flawless, it would definitely worry me more. Hearing some users chime in that have a new one or a demo that also have the problem, makes me feel a bit better. Also, some people pick up DSE/Banding more than others. I am not saying that there are not clean screens out there because I know there are. DSE though can actually be tricky depending on the person, source material, etc.
I payed extra for this set because plasma doesn't give me the IR proof option like my old Kuro did. Everything has a trade off. I think I could live with it. I also think I could probably push the issue with Sharp to find another one for me but again who knows how bad it would be. I have done that in the past where I return something only to get a replacement that actually is harder to live with. I really do appreciate your comments. I am trying to think rationally about it.
