Correct, DT Mythos Ones

I am using a Bell'O 64" stand (Model AVSC2061E) and it is *exactly* the same width as the 70" Elite. It fits perfectly and looks stunning. The Bell'O piece looks very high end with the Espresso wood and dark glass and it holds a lot of heavy gear. Just wanted to share...

I was asking because the picture looked like it had a black finish but upon closer inspection it seems to be Espresso Stained Oak.

Thanks for the clarification...

You could be right.

Maybe Saturday, but during the Sunday session Robert only unveiled it right before the end of the shootout. Almost immediately after some people began leaving.

or maybe the fact that he's trying to sell his Kuro also plays into it a bit

if you're trying to sell it then it would help to inflate the worth of the Kuro in relation to anything else currently on the market

I seriously doubt Robert was using the 141 as a sales pitch. He was just saying in his own way that even w/ all the 3D / internet / widgets and what not.

The 2011 models still can not produce better PQ than a 2008 Tv.

It was mentioned by a couple of the calibrators and participants at the show that the Kuro had an outstanding picture and was the best they saw. I would advise you to keep comments such as what you made to yourself as from all indications I can tell from reading many of Robert's posts in the past and how many customers of his that he's a stand up guy. Please remove your accusation and I will do the same with this post when you have done it.

Been watching my 70" for a few hours now. Using Ken's settings. What an incredible picture!

Bello does make a nice, cost effective stand........

You might want to track down Ken Ross. He's had both.

The Elite is definitely better. The Sony suffered from two issues, significant crosstalk at times and, with the Sony 3D glasses, a shifting of the color balance when you tilt your head. Using the 'XPand' universal 3D glasses, you can eliminate that color shift.

I have seen virtually no crosstalk or color shift on the Elite, in addition to presenting a brighter 3D picture than the Sony. It's definitely a better 3D experience if you're in to that...I'm not.

Don't think I've ever used 3D on any if my sets. Including this one lol. I've used 3D for testing. That's literally about it. Just not my cup if tea I guess :/

dsinger

Is the yellow pixel mixed with other colors?

Has anyone gone thru the skype setup? I wanted to see if anybody actually purchased the free talk camera that is to be used for elite models and see how good it is or not? You can find more details from the elite download webpage.

Dave, I don't think it's because of the yellow pixel either, but Kevin certainly implied the Elite takes longer than your typical set.

Not sure what you mean by mixed. The calibration process was no different from what I used for the 5 year old Panny plasma the 70X5 replaced.

I didn't time it but it didn't seem to take longer than the Panny plasma it replaced. However, the Panny didn't have a CMS so almost all the work was done in a Lumagen Radiance. Experience gained on THX spead up the process considerably in Movie. Longest time taken by far was on gamma and grayscale. I get overly anal using the 21 points in the Radiance.

There is no manufacturing in Mexico. The panel, boards, and other components that make up the TV are all manufactured in Japan, then are shipped to the state-of-the-art assembly plant in Mexico for final assembly.

you certainly are correct, but i think it was just an honest mistake. people say mfg in for some reason when they really mean assembled in.

Now that you know....made in means "assembled"

I am sure there are parts made in Mexico and other countries as well. I would gather the screens are made in Mexico, as shipping would be to expensive. Who knows though for sure.....

As for calibration I think should be transparent to calibrators. Correct me if im wrong but I don't think I've heard of calibration software for RGBY.

Probably due to switching on the yellow pixels post production which is why Miller didn't see it. Mapping 4 variables to a 3 dimensional space can have unexpected results.

We just purchased the camera, should be here on Monday. We have a newborn which would be fun to Skype our family from the couch.

Will let you know how it ends up working out.
