I would say so. I watched a Blu-ray movie on the LE835 and some SD content and i definitely noticed it. This problem would mean you have little hacksaw sized teeth running along every singe horizontal line or line formed by any color difference (which is all a line is obviously).
If you look on your TV, horizontal lines should be flat while looking from about 2 feet, it will be obvious if there are teeth.

I had the LE835u hooked up to my computer running Nvidia's 3D software. When i would enable 3D, and set the desktop resolution to 1080p/24 the problem went away and all the detail returned to my photos. Enabling 3D btw doesn't make the desktop 3D, it just gets the computer ready to display some 3D content. So the problem isn't the pixel structure itself, its the way it is processed.
Thus, if you have it, it should be able to be solved by an update.
