What's the Elite 70 inch box dimension?

Try to figure if I can fit the TV in my van or need delevry.

it was part of the last Shootout...it'll be interesting if the VT50 dethrones it this time (which I think is almost certain to happen if the cyan issue is not fixed by May)

Well, after reading through the thread, I must say there was a lot of great information, some not so great information, some utter BS, and a fair amount of WTF-are-you-talking-about?

I think the most important thing I learned was that the cyan problem on iOS is much worse than on Android, but only non-technical women can see it and there's a 2013 firmware update that will fix it. Also, some guy named Kuro may have died. I'm not clear on that part.

OK, srs bznss - if I can live with my dying green monster SXRD until the 2.0 comes out, I'll be lookin' for deals on the 1.0. I don't watch the Today Show.

As a former XBR1 and 3000 SXRD owner I can unequivocally say there's no comparison - the Elite totally demolishes it except maybe on viewing angle.

Quick question......

Been reading through the owners manual..... I notice on alot of other TV's you can adjust the hz of the content... Choosing 48hz, 60hz, and 96hz... Is there a similar feature that allows for this on the Elite??

that was the last Shootout...I'm talking about the one coming up next month...I think the VT50 will be the winner (even over the Elite) based on early reviews of the ST50 and VT50

yes all 4 sets are great choices but there can only be one ring to rule them all

Howdy,

It took me a bit longer to get set-up than I planned (audio) had a hicup along the way and finally got all set-up today.

Believe it or not the delay in my audio set-up put me off from watching tv with the tv speakers so I continued and got done today. I was a bit annoyed to say the least.

I have watched a couple of more blu-rays and a lot of HD TV as I worked on the audio the past couple of days.

The Cambridge Audio Azur blu-ray player came today as well so I slipped that in. I don't know. I am not sure it gets better than this. What a terrrific player and the display and combined= a lot of wow moments.

This set was worth every penny. I have Avatar on at the moment and I have never seen this movie look so good on any set. I really have to see if I can post some pictures for the visitors here even though I suck at photos.

This film is popping off the screen. It's insane it's so good. With the audio in place now all the better!

Even HD cable has been very good. I am using a THX TIVO box with a Comcast cable card. Not that this is any big deal but perhaps this box is a bit better than some of the other cable provided crappy boxes out there. I think I have noticed a bit of a change on the XBR8 in the bedroom now with an old Moto Comcast box. Gonna resolve that soon.

Maybe some pics over the weekend. I hope anyone on the fence about this set could take a spin with it for a week.

And regardless of which unit is crowned 'King', there will never be universal agreement. In the many years I've been on AVS, that more than anything is very obvious.

Those who place considerable value on unsurpassed dynamic range will probably not be happy with a plasma over an LED/LCD of the quality of the Elite.

The guy who bought my Pioneer Kuro yesterday said that he appreciates brilliant whites in a hockey game. For scenes like that, the Elite (or most LCDs for that matter) will blow away any plasma out there.

Although I'm not a fan of 3D, I'm really curious to see it on the Elite. I don't think it's yet available outside the Panasonic BD Player bundle...unless that's changed.

Yes- I have never used/seen 3D in a home environment. I guess I have the display and bought the blu-ray player to support it so going to check it out tonight. Picked up 5 movies to try so we will see how it goes.

Just got my Elite 70" last night. I am still setting it up, but did take some pictures. This is on the Standard settings. Dynamic is a bit bright for me but the colors look correct.
So many ways to find a setting that you like. Not sure if I will have it calibrated. I saw one calibrated and it looked a little too warm for me.
I still have much to experiment with.
Did watch some 3D and oh wow is it better than the Mits 82838 I had before, for one thing it is much brighter in 3D that the DLP. Before it was almost too dark with glasses on to see much, not so with the Elite.

There a little banding on one photo...that is not the set just the way the photo came out.

You got that right. It is absolutely amazing for sure.
When I watch it, I sit about 5-6 feet away from the screen and it is so life like...it is just jaw dropping.
At that distance, you would think you could see artifacts......No way. it is just ....killer.

I have the 3D BD and play it from an Oppo BDP-93
