lol maybe for the next Shootout they will give the inventor of LCD (George H. Heilmeier) a chance to speak in accordance to the 'equal time rule'

For those owners using stands for their 60 or 70 inch sets:

Do you think the Pinnacle Design Stand, model no. TV6073 any good? There is an incredible sale going on and I was seriously contemplating purchasing one. Most reviews praise it for DLP sets even though it's made for plasmas/ LCDs as well

A conspiracy theory, well the shootout wouldn't be complete without one. I actually did enjoy Mr. Walker's presentation and I didn't think the shootout was rigged to pay special kudos to the inventor of plasma but hey believe what you want.

It's rated for 150 lbs so it should carry the weight. There has to be some reason why it's price is $25, and they have a drawing and not a picture. I wouldn't expect it to look good, so the other problem might be the assembly. If there is a lot of trouble with that, it might not be worth it for any price.

Yep...no yellow flashes with the led like plasmas produce...I'm part of that 4-6% of the population that has that totally useless super power so even the best plasma display is almost unwatchable to me of any extended period of time.

I had a really nice chat with with him after the shootout and he's a great guy, not only does he have an exceptional brain but also a wonderful sense of humor and not at all conspiring .

Why oh why would you want to trust $5K-$8K of equipment to an unknown $25 stand is beyond me ...

I could have told you from day one that the homeless would not be receiving your Elite. It aint happening, it never was happening.

Here's what i say, Ive seen the Elite at BB, best thing ever! The pop, clarity, 3D like picture is stunning to my eyes. Avatar, wow, especially the first scene when the ship is in space approaching Pandora, Blacks that are indeed Black. Now unless i had a VT50, or something of equal color accuracy next to it, to me the Elite, had perfect colors. The Blacks made everything look good. I put Contrast and Black, before color. Honestly, this was at BB too, the colors were probably terrible, considered its not "Pro" calibrated. Too my eyes, first time i was floored by a set. I own a VT25, and the floating blacks, and the dithering, aren't great, its not bad, but i want more. I have yet to see a VT50, so I cant say as too whether is was better than the Elite, but for right now, Elite is the best

I was leaning that way until I checked amazon and saw all the positive reviews. Jumped the gun and ordered it rightaway.

Ahhh! It's a table-like stand, not one you mount the TV into. Sounds like a good deal!

Not a 60, but as I've said before, perhaps a 70 and an 80 to add to my 60. You see Titus, I'm just hooked on a lousy picture with lousy color. Oh, and I just love to pay through the nose for that pleasure.

That's probably a better deal than the $25 stand.

That's about what I paid for mine but they look worlds better wall mounted. A member over in the VT50 forums had an absolutely beautiful set up with his VT50 flush mounted in the, nice crown molding and accent lighting, very well done. Displays like these deserve to be shown off IMO.

Why would you need 3 large TV's?
Reminds me of the question, why do yo have 4 tvs in your bedroom? I said, because 5 is 1 too many.

You should also check out the Whalen stand at BB. A couple of years ago it was 699.00. It's on clearence for 399.00 on their website but when I ordered it, it was 250.00. Very, very nice stand that is already put together. 65 reviews and a 4.8 out of 5 overall. My review is the one on top. Here is a linkhttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/Whalen+Furniture+-+TV+Stand+for+Flat-Panel+TVs+Up+to+65%22/8781366.p;jsessionid=271FFBA857DD32E737D90BCD2E58BA05.bbolsp-app04-18?id=1205026862859&skuId=8781366&st=whalen furniture&cp=1&lp=18

The stand is 68" wide.

Just bought the 70" model from Robert at VE. I live in Southern California and am within easy driving distance of Monoprice. Works out great because they can just put stuff on "will call" for me and no shipping charges.

I was searching their website for a low profile mount for this TV (not the one that tilts just a standard flat mount) and I cannot find one that specifically calls out for 70' televisions. Has anyone in here bought a mount from monoprice for this TV? It seems like this one should work but they do have a tilting one that specifically calls out 70" (but I don't want the tile one).

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Just curious if anyone has a mount from them that works for the 70".

Is the Sanus great due to stability? I am asking simply because is there a added benefit to this one or is it simply one of the only mounts that will work with this TV's bolt pattern? Doing a google search on it it states it is for TV's up to 65". But I would assume it works fine for the 70" as you are using it.

Thanks for the quick reply.

70 and 80 verified. Plenty stable and many have bought the same mount. Slimmest profile out there. You won't regret. About 70 bucks on amazon
