Remote Control Sensor Problem - Validation, Partial Resolution, and a Dilemma
Validation - Just had another chap PM me about having the same issue. Bottom line is - it took about 10 days for Sharp to find a local repair firm, but then they acted swiftly - Sharp apparently sent the firm a motherboard with new firmware and a new sensor on it.
C'mon, Is this other forum laddie and myself the only ones that have had this problem ... would Sharp have sent the kit out (without the repair firm even taking a look at it first) if we were the only ones?
Partial Resolution - Zounds! Out of the blue, the problem resolved itself a couple of days ago, meaning it is one of those troublesome intermittent problems just waiting to happen again. And, the repair firm here in Northern Virginia is ready to replace the parts, no problem, no cost.
The Dilemma - I have a 60-day old Pro60X5FD that had been calibrated by Kevin Miller
at Value Electronics in New York. The local repair firm told me that replacing the motherboard will blow the calibration out of the water!
HELP!!! - Is there a way the existing calibration settings can be saved and reused/restored? If not, I am going to have to push for Sharp to pay for calibration, and I will have to search for some local DC/Northern VA guru to do so.
