FendersRule to the rescue....screenshots for Blu-rays!

I'm ready to buy a cheap Internal Blu-ray drive for my Mac Pro.

Yes, I have Windows 7.

Is there something out there that has the software already for me for snapping .PNG 1080p screencaps? I'd like to help contribute more.

Nobody wants FendersRule to the rescue?

On Windows you just need a decrypter (AnyDVD, DVDFab, MakeMKV) and MPC-HC.

I thought I would simply be able to:

*Insert Blu-ray into drive
*Open up playback software (MPC-HC)
*Use whatever command to take screen shots.

Are you saying I have to decrypt the entire movie before taking screenshots? That would make the process extremely long.

AnyDVD HD and DVDFab Passkey operate as a driver in the background, decrypting on-the-fly. MakeMKV requires you to copy the disc to your hard drive.

MPC-HC cannot defeat AACS or BD+.

Sorry for not getting back to you timely.

I wanted to wait until I booted into Windows to let you know what I have already installed. Here's what I have currently:

Total Media Theater 3 Platinum
AnyDVD HD

So with that in mind, what do I need (besides the OEM drive)?

Anything?

http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/

TMT3 can take screenshots when AnyDVD is enabled, but they are incorrect in my experience (softened).

Sweet. Looks like Any DVD along with the media player you linked should do 'er.

Anyplace you store media in perticular to be viewed from the forum? How long do they stay up on imageshack?
I use the Imageshack Uploader program to copy the direct links and then a little AutoIt script I wrote that turns those into direct-thumbnail links. The thumbnail link is just the direct link with .th.png instead of .png.

Some have been taken down; I read in their FAQ a while back that they are removed after some fairly long period of inactivity.

Ah. Yea. I'm definitely up for all the work. It feels good to contribute. It would be nice if these images were stored indefinitely though. Maybe AVSForum can support this?

I'll keep you up to date with what I do.

Ok, FendersRule still wants to be at the rescue, a year later.

Msgohan: I think it's time that we team up and ask AVS if we can have a dedicated space to store screenshots. There's nothing more miserable than storing images on ImageShack, and then re-entering a thread in a year to find that your efforts are wasted.

I revive this thread because I just ordered a BD-DVD burner for my Mac. Awaiting on a few SATA cables to show up (the Mac Pro was still using IDE in 2008.....haha), and then I'll be ready to roll after I get setup with some software.

Is there anyway that we can recieve moderator support for hosting images? Maybe I'll flag my own post if they don't show up soon and respond.

We could use ALOT more Blu-ray captures. There's lots of Blu-rays that I have that are HARD to find screenshots for. Class of Nukem High, Poltrygeist, and Phantom of the Paradise are just three off the top of my head that you'd really have to search for.
