I agree but I was able to stick through P&R, not the same for NG where I couldn't take it. Maybe if it's still around next season I may return and if I really get into it I may try watching this season. Don't get me wrong Zooey is quite the draw but this show just doesn't have anything else for me.

my oiwn suggestions would be to start introducing new characters in episodes
to see if they can find someone to be a supporting character for zooey.

wouldn't the supporting character for Zooey technically be her hot girlfriend ?

When Zooey screws up Caroline's name repeatedly and then finally says: "I give up." Yes. And "he's so soft, like a towel."

Bump....New Show Tonight after a long vacation.

I hope it starts to improve as I love Zooey's personality, not so much the other 3 goons.

Why Fox's Decision to Bench New Girl Until November Is a Good Thing
By Josef Adalian, New York Magazine's 'Vulture' Blog - October 11th, 2011

Indeed, the fact that the show won't be on the air for a spell is actually the clearest evidence yet that Fox feels it's found a new long-term comedy player.

But what about the argument that simply not airing New Girl for three weeks might slow down its momentum? Well, it's worth looking at what happened two years ago, when Fox preempted the red hot and new Glee for three weeks in the fall for baseball: After averaging 7.1 million viewers on October 21, it attracted 7.5 million gleeks upon its November 11 return.

After a four week hiatus, Fox's New Girl returned to a 3.5 adults 18-49 rating, that's down 19% from the 4.3 adults 18-49 rating in its last original on October 4. Total viewers has dropped to 7.53 million.

Just move baseball to ESPN. The few people that still care about baseball will find it.

It wasn't quite as good as the wedding episode but the show finally has found it's groove I think.

I thought there were some really good moments on the show. As far as consistency I think this episode worked better than the rest. There were laughs throughout, and the writing seemed to have been tightened up.

We differ greatly. I found the wedding episode to be almost unwatchable.

We loved this week's episode! Funny stuff.
It covered some very familiar territory, but in an entertaining way.

I really liked Winston's struggle to acclimate to modern society and absorbing all of the useless pop culture stuff that occurred over the last couple of years.

I would like to see her gumbo pot.

I must have watched a different show because I thought this week's was decidedly un-funny. Different strokes, I suppose. I liked most of the earlier offerings.

It's amazing how zoey deshenal (whatever...) Is able to look like she has nothing but air as her brain yet sounds come out of her mouth... Permanently deleting...

I was hopeful that ZD could carry the show, but I am giving up on it. It's too painful to watch anymore.

Amazing how some people can hate shows while others love it.

Yeah, a big step down from previous show. I really like ZD but I don't think her cuteness can sustain the show by itself and her cast mates aren't doing it at all.

The thing that is ruining this show is the guy (don't remember their names) who won't stop acting like a metrosexual douchebag. Replace him and the show might have a chance of finding its legs. I'm actually OK with the black guy now even though initially I thought he fared poorly as compared to Damon Wayans Jr.

The problem with this weeks's episode is that the combination of ZD's deliberately infantile mannerisms and speech patterns, combined with the subject matter (trying to get her to say penis) came off a little bit like something you'd see on those "barely 18" web sites. Granted, the episode had its humorous moments, but it also made my skin crawl in other places.

Of the new comedies (Whitney, New Girl, and Up All Night) I find that Up All Night is the best, but also has the worst ratings. Whitney is just terribly acted and the laugh track is annoying as hell. New Girl is still too cutesy for its own good...almost cloyingly so, and I'm about done with it. Each of the shows I dont like have one thing in common - supporting characters that I quite honestly hate. Up All Night as Maya Rudolph, who steals every scene she's in.
I agree with your assessment. Up All Night is the best one of the bunch. I'm surprised that its ratings aren't that good. I'm still watching all three, but my wife won't watch New Girl or Whitney.

Does Up All Night have a thread? I didn't see one on a quick glance at the first couple of pages of threads.
It's amazing how viewer's taste can differ. We gave up on "Up All Night" after the very first episode because we didn't laugh once and I just absolutely cannot stand Maya Rudolph. We love "Whitney" and really like "New Girl."

I thought this week's New Girl was the best to date. Schmidt was hilarious without being quite as annoying like earlier episodes.
They really need to tone down that Schmidt guy, he is way too over the top. Although I thought the "birdcat" bit was really funny.
Zoey's hot girlfriend is very easy on the eyes, I had a hard time keeping up with the dialogue every time she was on screen.

My searching only came up with the one you just created

its growing on me.
Schmidt's celebratory parkour moves were so stupid they were funny.
Well, we decided to dump this one from the season's pass recording list. I like Zooey, and there certainly a few funny moments, but it is just too inconsistent for me. There are a few too many scenes that just come across as awkward, and not in a funny way.
I think they are starting to mesh much better. I loved the line "I'm going in." and "Yell!"
