WFTX in FL: Empire: no digital capacity??

At 8:30 I called the guys at WFTX in Cape Coral to ask when they were going to throw the switch on the DTV broadcast of "Empire Strikes Back"... they said they weren't, because they weren't set up to broadcast in digital yet... hmmm... I've only been watching their digital broadcast since the Superbowl...

Then the Tampa station (or Fox...) stopped broadcasting in widescreen for the last scene..

Come on, guys - somebody has to start taking these broadcasts seriously.

Let this fellow know he is in Orlando and is charge of the centralcasting of WFTX maybe he can give you a satisfactory answer but be nice.

Emmis centralcasting CE Joe Addalia in charge of WFTX,WALA, WKCF, WVUE:
addalia@wb18.com

If they were doing fox 16:9 in the past then they should have been doing it last night. Let him know he will look into it.

Thanks for the contact - I'll give him a shout.

The engineer at the station today says they're having router trouble. I have no idea how long they've been down but I hope they get back up soon...
