New video card - 6870 MPC DXVA flickering issues

Hey Guys,

So I just bought a new video card to replace my 4890, new one is a 6870. I never really played around with many settings in MPC prior, but noticed today, that using the haali renderer option in the Output settings in MPC was giving me the rare lag and stutter in some 1080p mkv scenes. So a friend of mine directed me to configuring MPC for DXVA, and I set the output option to EVR Custom Pres which seemed to make the playback buttery smooth now and pic quality seemed to improve a bit too.

However now I have a new strange issue, I watched my first movie with these setttings (King's Speech), and notice that on certain scenes, the brightness/contrast would change and flicker. This was especially noticeable during scenes in the Dr.'s office when it was basically just the king sitting in front of the textured/colored wall background.

The flickering was pretty annoying, and I changed the output setting back to the haali renderer, and it would no longer do it, but I like the image quality and smoothness of the EVR option better.

Anyone have any solutions or idea's as to what could be causing this problem?

Oh and I also thought it might be my projo doing some kind of dynamic contrast adjustments, but I get the same results on my pc monitor as well.

Just curious, what driver version are you using?

go into drivers, disable dynamic contrast.

also, what cpu do you have? if its a good one, try out http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1357375 instead of dxva.
