Star Wars Spoofs (2011, Apx. 91 Minutes): The farce is strong with this one! Enjoy a hilarious collection of Star Wars spoofs and parodies that have been created over the years, including outrageous clips from Family Guy, The Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother and more and don't miss "Weird Al" Yankovic's one-of-a-kind music video tribute to The Phantom Menace!

The Making of Star Wars (1977, Apx. 49 Minutes): Learn the incredible behind-the-scenes story of how the original Star Wars movie was brought to the big screen in this fascinating documentary hosted by C-3PO and R2-D2. Includes interviews with George Lucas and appearances by Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.

The Empire Strikes Back: SPFX (1980, Apx. 48 Minutes): Learn the secrets of making movies in a galaxy far, far away. Hosted by Mark Hamill, this revealing documentary offers behind-the-scenes glimpses into the amazing special effects that transformed George Lucas' vision for Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back into reality!

Classic Creatures: Return of the Jedi (1983, Apx. 48 Minutes): Go behind the scenes and into the costumes as production footage from Return of the Jedi is interspersed with vintage monster movie clips in this in-depth exploration of the painstaking techniques utilized by George Lucas to create the classic creatures and characters seen in the film. Hosted and narrated by Carrie Fisher and Billie Dee Williams.

Anatomy of a Dewback (1997, Apx. 26 Minutes): See how some of the special effects in Star Wars became even more special two decades later! George Lucas explains and demonstrates how his team transformed the original dewback creatures from immovable rubber puppets (in the original 1977 release) to seemingly living, breathing creatures for the Star Wars 1997 Special Edition update.

Star Wars Tech (2007, Apx. 46 Minutes): Exploring the technical aspects of Star Wars vehicles, weapons and gadgetry, Star Wars Tech consults leading scientists in the fields of physics, prosthetics, lasers, engineering and astronomy to examine the plausibility of Star Wars technology based on science as we know it today.

Yes 789 are the extras. 78 are BD 50 and 9 is BD25 at least that is what I have seen posted.

Yes but Discs 7+8 look like they each hold 30 minutes of deleted scenes and some galleries and interviews. Which doesn't seem like they're filling these discs to the brim to me.

That is odd indeed

That is interesting considering the documentaries and such from the previous releases have been omitted. Easter eggs perhaps?
Would love it if there were a bunch of eggs

During the press junket for the BDs last month (pre the new changes controversy), I thought someone from Lucasfilm - probably Matthew Wood - teased that there were some Easter eggs to seek out. Perhaps we may see more info in a couple of days?

From the old thread:

Overall sound quality has been considerably improved due to either careful restoration or using other takes. Some of the new effects and ambient elements are tastefully done, aside from Obi Wan's testicular Force crushed auto-tuned scream, and feel there wont be much objections to those.

Bass has been improved and sounds cleaner and deeper in comparison to the 04 DVDs which seem rather bloated and fluttery, assuming that makes sense. Most likely due to aged elements and dynamics compression.

Dynamics have improved a great degree, however the levels between the various audio elements still favors sound effects over the soundtrack. There are instances when those elements are pretty well balanced whereas others, especially more notable moments, Williams score is dialed further back than what I would have expected and prefer.

Dialogue is overall improved and not buried by other elements much of the time.

Even though various audio elements manifest their age, ANH actually is more dynamic, subtle, nuanced, less processed, and little to no distortion being introduced by foolhardy modern LOUD-fi mixing sensibilities. Unfortunately the irony is that ANH probably will not receive as much praise say some other mixes.

Best Regards
KvE

I agree with all of the above. Star Wars sounds better than Empire to my ears.

The only thing I can add is that I was at Target yesterday and asked and was told they are not doing that. However, I'm guessing they will make a last minute or possibly even an unannounced decision on that.

My local Walmart ad mentioned a midnight event... hmmm, maybe a trip to the Wally World?

Several people have asked about store exclusives, so here's what I've found:

1. Bestbuy: film cel with pre-order
2. Bestbuy: t-shirt with complete saga
3. Target: set of 8 lithographs
4. Walmart: Boba Fett poster
5. Foxconnect: ComicCon lithograph
6. UK exclusives: same film cel and t-shirt as Bestbuy
7. Canada exclusive: mini lightsabers to first 5 customers
8. Korean exclusive: AT-AT 3D puzzle thing

I'm in the US and I'm not too sure who's offering the UK, Canadian or Korean exclusives. Frankly, they're pretty crappy so I didn't research further.

No changes to Jedi bar those listed in the link in the OP.
The Commentaries are audio only.

It would make sense if it was a worldwide release, but Tuesday would be better as the UK got it today.

I noticed that from an above post so that made me wonder even more. LFL just wants to sweat us out, huh?
