I am really, really, really looking forward to Friday. Hoping Amazon doesn't drop the ball on my release day delivery order.

Fox love them, but a few of my early Buffy seasons are nearly ruined due to that packaging

3 days early should probably do it.

This is a very highly anticipated release. I have been told that I am on the list but quite frankly one never knows. I will advise once I have it in hand.

Regards,

Ralph,

You are the reviewer for Blu-rays, in my mind, and your review of this set will weigh heavily on my decision of whether or not to purchase this set. Take your time and make it a good one .

Thanks for your hard work!

Maybe they got what they deserved.

Kidding aside, how did they get ruined? I've handled my Alien Anthology set quite a bit since I got it and its still good as new.

Unless you are in an isolated area with only one or two purchase options I doubt you'll run in to issues with low quantities. Especially at a Target who is always heavily vested in SW product.

I guess you missed the sarcasm in my post unless Fox purposely shorted the 1st run no one should have any issues anywhere release day.

Never can have enough media coverage

If there's a franchise that could benefit from media coverage it's Star Wars. (That's a little sarcasm in case it's missed)

When I saw Dave Mack's original post, I thought..."WHAT? Target breaking street dates?!?!"

That said, like him, I will be headed to my local Target...after work Friday. May not get the lithos, but also not that concerned about them. Price is right & I have a $10 Target gift card from some prior pruchase. I know what my weekend will consist of.

There may be a few that will base their decision on a review but I have to assume I'm not alone in that I like to use the reviews as a barometer of sorts for my home theater equipment. Especially if key items are pointed out, i.e. "...you could actually see..." or "you could hear...", it enables me to go back and see if I can see or hear those things and compare. Also, I use them to compare my own opinions. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't but either way I just enjoy it. It's a hobby and an opportunity to participate with those "like me".

This will be one of those mornings where I'll be able to go first thing in the morning before work. So I expect to be able to pick up the set but also the lithos, (really wish I had an idea what to expect on those). It will be a pleasurable torment to have to wait until the evening to watch them.

Received an email from Amazon.UK my set has been dispatched via Royal Mail (estimated arrival date: October 04, 2011). Oct. 4th now. I guess Chewie forgot to fix the hyper-drive.

I am having an anxiety attack, when I get the set (later today or tomorrow) am I supposed to pop in 1 or 4 first?

The correct answer is 42...... it doesn't matter which you watch 1st just choose a trilogy to start with and go from there.

Today or tomorrow?! You're supposed to pop in Citizen Kane- everyone knows that!

For people who feel the extras to be lacking, I would recommend (spent all day watching these)

Star Wars Begins

Building Empire

Returning to Jedi

They are films as commentaries and have a ton of info that I had never heard of before, including the prop of Luke's lightsaber from the Jedi deleted scene.

The whole films are on Youtube and are worth watching if you are a fan.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxIaO...eature=related Building Empire

I am shocked at how good they are, also there are a lot of scenes of Marquand directing

My choice would have been to do slim cases like the Star Trek movie sets.

Of the two, I prefer the UK packaging... Not enough to cancel my US preorder yet, though. I'll probably get slim blu cases and do custom art.

That's what I'm thinking too, except I'm going to go with the standard size cases. I have already found some nice custom covers.

I think the last email I got from amazon was an expected arrival date of 9/20. No thanks, I canceled my order and will also head to Target in the AM. I have company coming over to start watching them with us Friday night. I'm sure I will have gripes based on some of the indications I've seen so far but I'm confident they will be a decent upgrade from the dvd's I have and at roughly $13 a disc the cost is right.

Certainly the cost is nothing to piss&moan about.

But if the "goods" are screwed up, you won't have oink to kick around here anymore....

You know, initially that's a no brainer decision to go with IV. But then again, what do you expect a 1977'er to say?

My plan is to go traditional and watch them as I grew up with them VI-VI then I-III. Then I'll give the bonus discs a view as time permits. The next time I watch them (whenever that will be) I'll go I-VI and make an event of it with my kids.

I know, I've browsed it before, but it was several months ago. I need to check it out again.
