Well, this twist I did see coming
As I'm sure everyone else did too, being the only reason I can think of for having the mother still around...they practically spoon fed us what was going to happen, offerring several not so subtle hints over the last couple of episodes...Another thing I love about this show. Its so secure in its smartness it isn't afraid to appear dumb
At first glance this episode might not seem to be up to the level of the last few, but to me me it was extremely clever. Slyly changing gears, leaving the outrageous twists and surprises behind for the moment to concentrate on the drama...They took the weight of the story off the surreal for the moment and placed it all on Sarah's pretty shoulders, letting her carry the load. And she did it admiringly, more than up to the task. I'm admittingly biased-Buffy is my favorite show of all time. But to me at least Sarah's performance last night was amazing. Its going to go unsung of course, just like her acting was never rewarded properly for the Slayer. And no, I'm not saying she's Meryl Streep...but I will say MS couldn't have done a better job than Sarah did in this one. My opinion of course YMMV...but I'm still enjoying the heck out of this show..
