For those wondering about the WNDR4500 vs WNDR3800 looks like Slashgear posted a review of it today.

With the 4500 I don't see the following listed:
Clear Channel Selector
Ready Share Cloud

Improvements over the 3800:
Ultimate Speed - Now up to 900 Mbps
Ultimate Range - Improved 2.4 & 5 GHz range
Faster USB Storage Speed
Two USB ports

Performance:
4800: Memory 128 MB Flash and 128 MB RAM

3800: Memory 16 MB flash and 128 MB RAM

4500 doesn't have but 3800 does have:
Dedicated Video Mode
ReadySHARE Cloud
ClearChannel Selector
Time Machine Compatible
TIVO Extended Storeage

Chipset Comparison:
4500 Chipset - CPU1: Broadcom BCM4718 (480 MHz)

3800 Chipset - CPU1: Atheros AR7161 (680 MHz)

Great Comparison chart here thanks to link from (N_Da_Game) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=5336055023-20

Like they mentioned it may have been there setup. I have had the 3800 for a week now and no complaints.

If they aren't capable of testing something properly then I don't understand why they are posting reviews. It doesn't generally take much time or effort to confirm an issue with wired connections.

I'd expect wired performance to be rock solid, but (in the first review that I've seen) having a negative comment about something so fundamental isn't exactly inspiring confidence.

anyone else experience these dropped connections?

Well, I don't have a WNDR4500, but I do have a WNDR4000. My wired setup includes FiOS input via ethernet and router connections to several computers and my AV setup. It is all cat 6 gigabit based wire. I have experienced zero problems with drop outs. I have had no problems with data transfers over the network (upwards of ~50GB at a time) and no problems with HD video streaming.
