I love this song from FFX, one of the coolest and most unexpected song styles for a FF game:

Was it X or X-2 that had 1000 Words on it?

Cheesy as it was...its my all time favorite FF moment.

FFX-2 Had 1000 Words.

I think Vegnagun was a joke. FFX was wayyy better than FFX-2 =)

Sort of. Storywise, sure FFX was far superior. However when it came to gameplay and battlesystem, FFX-2 is the best FF game to date. I know it's blasphemy, but the combat system in FFX-2 is by far the best of the series.

This is bittersweet news... On the one hand, it is great that we are getting both games on the PS3 and Vita, on the other hand, the lack of PS3 backwards compatibility on the PS4 now sucks even more.

While I was able to get through the game, I have to respectfully disagree.

To me, it was far too hectic trying to control all three of the characters when their time came for input. I personally loved FFXII's battle system the best with the gauntlet system. While it was ATB, it still stopped the action when you were deciding what to do next. I'm not a fan of the action that keeps moving and you have to make split second decisions while scrolling through a huge list of options. You can't even look at the action on the screen because you are too busy looking for what type of attack you want to use and in the meantime you are having your ass handed to you.

Slow the battle speed down and you won't have to worry about not having time to choose. If you know you want to have one character only attack (melee) I think you can set a battle rule for them.

Ever since X-2 that has been the game though....XII kept it up and XIII enhanced on it. XIII's version of Paine, Fang I think...was ONLY melee. So I set her so that I didn't even have to enter her commands so I only had to worry about Lightning and Penelo, I mean Vanille =)

You lucky...

Where at? All I get to do is go see Gabriel Iglesias this weekend in Daytona...
We're in Omaha, Nebraska. The place they are playing is a pretty great concert hall. It should be a good time. Today is Uematsu's birthday so they are planning a special treat for him.

How was it? What was the song list, and what did they do for Uematsu?

Gabriel Iglesias put on an amazing show, almost 4 hours of non stop comedy. (with 2.5 being just him) The Stand Up Revolution tour is worth going to if you get the chance.

The concert was amazing. It was better than I expected, which is saying a lot because I'd basically seen the whole thing at various halls on youtube.

They played all the fan favorites from VII and VIII. A lot from V and VI.
The opera from VI was EPIC. They brought three soloists that had amazing voices.

Swing de Chocobo was awesome!

They played a never before heard newly orchestrated piece from V, the theme of love I think for Uematsu's birthday gift. He had never heard it before.

They finished with Terra's theme. Then standing ovation. Finally after like 5 minutes of ovation Roth and Uematsu came back out and toyed with the audience about doing one more song...the one everyone wanted to hear but hadn't been played yet. Then Roth suggested Uematsu join the choir and the audience sing along...we only needed to know one word. Then.....One winged angel.

It was an amazing night with really broad demographics. There were people there just for the orchestral piece that had never played or heard of FF before. Everyone from tuxedos and gowns to Cos Play.

If you ever get a chance to go...its highly recommended.

Here's the first trailer. Yeah, the music is such a big part of FF... brings back memories. The departures of Sakaguchi and Uematsu are sorely missed.

I'm so glad we're getting X-2 to go with X HD. I know some people didn't like X-2, but I personally really enjoyed it.

Up for preorder on Amazon for $39.99

Knowing Square, it may go up, making it worth it to put a preorder down just in case.

Are you charged when you order it, or when it ships?

When it ships, and if the price drops any time from when you order it, through the day of it's release, they will automatically match that lower price to your preorder.

Since it's an older game just being remade, I wonder if it will come with preorder bonuses. Not just lame posters or other stuff most would never use, but I mean in game bonuses.

I will have tons of fun with X until I get to the laughing scene. I may snap the disc in half and use the shards to cut through my speaker wire at that point.

The original Japanese scene was just as bad, it was intentionally done poorly.

Final Fantasy X International Additions - $4.99
Final Fantasy X-2 International Additions - $4.99
Final Fantasy X-2 Last Mission - $2.99

If true, I will be very upset as SE already stated this content would be included.

Note: This is applicable to the PS3 version, the Vita version could be the same.

So, I'm curious about one thing.

Are these games are going to be exactly the same as the originals (just with HD graphics) or are they making any significant changes to them? I only ask because it seems like the type of battle system employed in FFX is all but forgotten these days. Quite frankly, today's gamers don't seem to have the attention span to stick with something that isn't constant hectic action so I wonder if they plan on "speeding up" the combat of FFX to try and draw in more customers.

Me personally, I love true turn-based action that has the action completely stop and allows you to actually think about your next move. I hate having to scroll through a huge list of commands looking for what you want, all the while being blasted on screen by the enemy.
