Pioneer PDP-6020 FD VS Panasonic VT30 (Vs Samsung PND8000)

Hello all!!!

I have a weird delimna. I am buying a new TV (technically, I am returning my UN60D8000 because I am not a fan of the PQ) and going to get a new TV. I was looking at the PN59D8000 at first, but think getting the Panasonic VT30 may be a better choice (just based on staring at them both for hours at BB and a local home theater shop). Now my buddy is going to sell his Pioneer PDP-6020FD, and wanted to know if I wanted it (for $3k). I have a 50 inch Pioneer I got from Best Buy in 2007, and it still ooks killer, but I want a bigger tv in that room.

I know the PQ on Pioneer is excellent, but am debating paying for an older tv over a brand new one.

I figured I would ask the forum for you input and see what everyone thought.

Basically:
Brand new Samsung PND8000
Brand New Panasonic VT30
Lightly Used Pioneer PDP-6020

he's asking too much for his kuro. bring him back to planet earth. at that price i'd go with either the samsung or the panasonic.

i agree . way too much for the 6020. 2 grand would even be on the high side.

i tried to sell mine for 2 grand a year ago and got NO bites at all.

What size VT30 and d8000 would you get because for that price you could get the 64/65" and have a bigger screen then the 60" Pioneer. I also have to agree that the asking price on the 6020 is too high. I have seen the Elite 60" Pioneers going for $2300-$2500 and I have a friend that bought a brand new 6020 for $2500 like a year or two ago. I have a KRP-500M and love it but also want a bigger screen for my HT room. I have been looking at the same models as you but the 64/65" models and I was looking at getting a used Pioneer 151FD for under $2500 but I had a hard time justifying the purchase of the used display just for warranty/precautionary reasons. I ended up deciding I wanted to get a brand new TV but I still haven't purchased one and I think I am probably going to end up waiting to get next years model in the hope that they narrow the gap on the 3 yr old Kuros. Just hoping one of the manufacturers can combine color accuracy and deep blacks since Samsung and Panny each have issues with one or the other. Good luck with your decision!

ill give him 600 dollars for that old pioneer
