Ipod Docks with digital outputs

Currently I have a Wadia 170i dock. Was wondering if there's anything new, I know Wadia has a updated one 171, and Cambridge has the iD100. I was thinkning about iD100, since it has a AES/EBU XRL output in addition to the standard coax.
Anyone familar with either unit? I'll be used with my CBIIIHD.

I use the Wadia 171i. I like it. Never had the 170 to compare the difference. I use to have the Denon which gave me the on screen display of the music playing on my iPod. The Wadia does not. The Wadia sounds much better than the Denon.

I am planning on using my ipod for music only. Does the 171 have any benefit other than better video? Will the 170 work with new ipod/phone? thanks for any info.

Go onto the Wadia.com site and you can see the difference.

I was one of the earliest users of the Wadia 170 and have been very happy with it.
That was until a few days ago when I tried the Cambridge ID100 to see how good it was.

The remote function of the ID100 alone is worth the switch.
The fact that the ID100 also was the clear winner in sound quality made it a no brainer.

I was going to check out the Wadia 171 first, but honestly, the ID100 is so clearly superior to the original 170 that I'm not even going to bother now.

The very nature of converting USB data to SPDIF necessitates re-clocking.
Therefor, they all do it.

been running a Doug Jessie built Wadia 170i transport { got the works} for about 4 years plus now with a extra digital input for other units for you to run through it, best unit hands down and with a onboard DAC makes it very handy, been looking at the new 171 but really don't think i need one yet.... but then again....
