Having extensively used prior versions of Audyssey as well as Pro, yes XT/32 is a noticeable improvement over XT. Although, in numerous systems, either was a huge improvement over nothing at all. Going from stock Audyssey to Pro is more about refinement. It does not deliver the big jump in SQ that you get in going from zero to stock Audyssey. But, it further refines the sound, allows for certain tweaks to it and provides measurements that can reveal issues Audyssey is unable to overcome without reconfiguration, in addition to allowing more mike positions. To me the results in tonality and imaging are clear. So, good as stock Audyssey is, I gotta have Pro from now on.
The measurements can be quite useful in getting multiple subs in synch, for example. That may be a potentially bigger issue than most people realize, even if they completely adhere to the Audyssey setup guide. There was a recent case of that in the Audyssey Pro thread here at AVS. Problem solved, but without measurements, it likely would not have been fixed.
