MultEQ and MultEQ XT are important in my opinion because they can EQ a subwoofer while 2EQ cannot. Low frequencies are the most difficult to get right so you need to do something with them. Subwoofer placement and room treatments are the best solution but EQ can help as well. The 2112 has a lot of features for the price and is a great option. If you want to get Onkyo, I would look at the RC370. It steps up to MultEQ XT and the new models are said to not get as hot as the 08 series did.
could i tell a difference? if multi EQ is so much better for low freq then why is the integra THX select 2 certified? The denon 2112CI is also $100 more.
Agree with them both re: MultEQ XT in the 2112CI over 2EQ in the Onkyo and Integra ... also, if you are referring to MSRP ... you can save a couple hundred on the 2112CI simply by "calling" Electronics Expo or AV Science and asking for their best price.
