I don't think the world wide web can handle that. I don't want to be the guy that blowed up the internet.

As good as the audio is on TPM I actually thought it was slightly better on
AOTC. The audio is maybe the best reason to get the saga. It kicks ass.

Whenever I watch one of the brs, my wife and kids are always yelling at me to turn the volume down even though I'm in my man cave with the door closed.

haven't read this whole thread but figured I'd comment that, while visiting my brother this past weekend for the first time in years, we were checking out the new SW blu-rays. We both agreed that the original un-altered cuts would be great to see on blu and he pulled out his DVD set of the original cuts that he bought many years ago, I forget when they came out.

I had heard of this trilogy release but didn't buy it, and I was shocked when I looked at his copy and saw that they're NOT anamorphic. WTF?? Why the hell are these discs not anamorphic? Was that Lucas just thumbing his nose at the people who wanted the original cuts to be released on DVD? I'm sure this is old news to everyone here but I was just amazed to find that out.. what a dick move by GL...

The unaltered versions of the movies are simply recycled Laserdisc masters from 1994. They're non-anamorphic letterbox and 2.0 audio. George Lucas would not spend a penny to remaster them.

ah, I see.. so it was a dick move by GL. good to know.

I'm actually surprised he included the originals AT ALL, considering he only sees whatever the latest of whatever he's released as the "only definitive" Star Wars versions.

Yeah, trying to get remastered anamorphic versions within his lifetime (plus whatever his estate wants within the copyright period) is an extreme longshot at best. You'd be luckier to hit the vent with the torpedoes without using the Force.

Kurt Russell auditioned for Star Wars?

Well, if you guys really need to see the original 1977 version in HD you will need to find this. I actually saw it and it's the closes thing to the original as I remember and without the "A New Hope" in the beginning.

- I just did some quick Google research. Isn't the Hyperspace edition simply a upscaled version compared to the HD source of Despecialized?

I found this so I'm not sure. I'm not super hung up on the quality as I am the content. Seems like both get footage from various cuts and are upscaled in many places.

I'm patiently waiting for the zombie versions...

Speaking of, I watched Just Friends tonight (one of many Christmas movies) and forgot how much I like the kid that plays the younger brother, also from Fanboys wink.gif , a classic comedy that should be on the shelf of every SW fan's HT library.

The little brother steals the show! You sold me on fanboys, adding to my q.
