Small Apartments and Big TV's =)

I'm a long time lurker and thought I'd finally join and post =) I love looking at everyones set ups! We live in a teeny tiny 500 sqft MIL apartment, but we have made it work. Soon we are moving into a house so then I will have a lot more space to work with and can finally get all my games and systems out of storage.

My Set Up:

TV: Sony 52" XBR5
Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH
Speakers:
Front: Polk RTI A7
Center: Polk CSI A6
Surround L&R: Polk RTI A5
Rear: OWM 3
Sub: none atm, our craptastic one died and I really havent seen a need to acquire another in our small space
Blu-ray: PS3
Games: XBOX, Xbox 360, Wii, NES

In hindsight I wish that I had picked up another set of the A7's for the surround but we will probably upgrade to the A9's for the front and then move the A7's to the surround

The OMW 3's have been great as rears in our small room though I cant wait to replace them with FXI A6's. Of course finding a good sub will have to come first =D

Looks smaller than a 52." Your subject suggested something one of my neighbors used to have, a behemoth RPTV occupying an entire wall! U can use a 60" no prob.

LOL Yea now that Im looking at the photos it does look smaller than it actually is. The Viewing distance is only 6 ft so I dont think we could have gone bigger. Not that there were that many choices for bigger when we bought our LCD.

It's going to look so small in the new media room, which is 21 ft long by 16ft or so. I wont be using the entire length but finally someone over 62 inches can play Kinect =D

Thanks Kevin! It is really comfortable but it collects stains and is nearly impossible to clean hence the Toy Story Blanket =)

I'm not sure what I want to get for a sub. That's why we used my husbands craptastic one until it died. I knew I didn't want a Polk Sub so I've been procrastinating looking for one. Since we are moving it will probably have to wait until after the first of the year but I will definitely be reading on the forums and see what will work best with our set up

Yea I have a slight addiction to all things Nintendo. The metal Mario Sign I actually picked up at a local goodwill, made my whole day =)

Do you plan on using your components in a dedicated room when you move?

You get my approval especially with having Goonies on the tv (my all time favorite movie). Great setup!

Yes they will all be in the front 3/4 of the family room the other 1/4 will be an office and probably a treadmill. We probably wont be doing a whole lot of upgrading since the house is a rental.

Heheh Yea its mine too. My brother and I killed at least 2 VHS tapes because we watched it so many time the VCR ate them. I was so glad when they finally transferred it to blu-ray
