I'm finishing my basement and plan to re-route coax for a new office and TV room. I'd like to know the best possible way to re-route the cables and split the lines to limit signal loss. Below is what I think is my best option:
Current Setup:
Main line to 3-way splitter
Line 1. To phone modem (Comcast Triple Play)
Line 2. To 2nd floor BR, 2-way splitter
Line a) broadband modem to wireless router
Line b) Digital Cable box
Line 3. To 1st floor LR, 2-way splitter
Line a) to HD-DVR Cable box
Line b) to wall outlet that will never be used
Proposed Setup:
Main line to 4-way splitter
Line 1. To phone modem
Line 2. To Basement Office, broadband modem to wireless router
Line 3. To 2nd floor BR, to Digital Cable box
Line 4. To 3-way splitter
Line a) to LR HD-DVR Cable box
Line b) to LR wall outlet that will never be used
Line c) to Basement TV room, HD-DVR Cable box
Is there a better way to route this setup?
