Looking for a decent sub.

Have all my speakers but the sub. Fronts pro cinema 1000, center pro cinema 2000, rears def-tech bp1.2x. Powering everything with a 3311. Room is a finished basement, half tv area other half pool table. It's about 4500 cubic feet. Will brides for 90% movies, 10% music. Looking to stay under 1000, and have been thinking about the hsu vtf 3.4.

That's a pretty good sized area the subwoofer has to pressurize. If you are sitting in a middle area, and the sub won't be very close, you should think about stepping it up to the Hsu VTF15h.

The theater side of the room is 14x15x10, then opens to the other half of the room that has the pool table. Have a couch on the rear wall of the listening rear and can place the sub on either end, or behind the couch.

What about a vtf 3.3 with turbo tube?

Hsu doesn't make the turbo anymore, and besides that only boosted the deep frequency output anyway. However, your seating sounds like it won't be hard to get a nice bass sound, I think the VTF3 will do fine in your situation. If you can get a used VTF3 with turbo, that will have some pretty beefy deep bass though, very strong down to 16 hz.

14x15x10=2100 CF, which is less then half what was quoted in the original post, so I assume the area with the pool table is larger then the HT section? If so, you might be better served with two sub's instead of one. That would provide more even distribution, and possibly allow you to tailor the output to something that works a bit better for your space.

I have an Outlaw LFM-1 EX that is probably a close second if not a tie in total output to the VFT-3.3. I have 6,000 cubic feet and sit about 10 ft from the sub. It does not pressurize the room for that ultimate bass that some people on the forum want. Others on the forum recommended that I would be happy anyway, and they were right. It does a fantastic job, and was a giant upgrade over the 10" sub I previously had. I don't think you would be disappointed.

Sent drawings of the room to hsu and they recommend the vtf-15h, local store I can get two revel b120's for under 1000. Did some research and found not much of anything of the revel's. Or can pickup two vtf 3.3's for about 1000. Hopefully I'll be able to something out soon.

The whole room is 4500 cubic feet, with the tv watching area in half, I can't pressurize only half the room that why I gave the whole room size.
