I have to say that Part Two is probably the worst 3D Blu-ray title in my collection of over 45 movies. Some of the worst ghosting I've seen. Even my wife was complaining about how things in the distance/background were blurry. I've never seen 3D at home so distracting that it pulls you right out of the movie--until now.
The odd thing is that I saw it in 3D in the theater and it didn't have these problems. Not sure how the 3D Blu-ray release ended up so bad.

I just watched the 3D version of Part 2 last night. I thought the 3D was pretty decent. I really didn't notice any ghosting. I thought the 3D on Part 2 is much better compared to Part 1.
I also see zero ghosting. Background objects are definitely less sharp and exhibit a severe lack of detail, but no ghosting at all, at least on my system.

Yep, I didn't see any ghosting, either. But if you compare it to many other 3D titles, it just seems flat. That said, I'll still watch it because there's a severe drought of non-cartoon 3D titles.

I agree completely, just watched both back to back on a Passive 3D set, neither had any ghosting people are mentioning, but Part 2 had far better 3D than Part 1. It may have been that Part 2 had more scenes and environments that lent themselves to 3D. the 3D was wasted completely on Part 1 and except for a few scenes, I barely noticed it was in 3D at all. Part 2 on the other hand had a number of scenes throughout that the 3D really added to the experience.

I just watched Part 2 on a DLP set, and found the 3D effects to be quite good. I saw no ghosting or any other type of artifacts, and I think the 3D moments made what to me was a long movie much more enjoyable.
Watched this tonight. I noticed Ghosting when Harry met Voldemort in the wood near the end of the movie but otherwise not much.
As for the 3D, pretty decent! Really?
In my opinion it's hit and miss at best, pretty well flat in some scenes and not too bad in others. I certainly would not call it decent when compared to movies like Resident Evil, Sanctum, Avatar and Drive Angry.
Hate to bring back a older thread but I picked this up last week being on sale at B.B for $20. i actually thought it was quite good and never saw any background issues. Granted it's not Avatar or Transformers or Kung Fu Panda 2 but it did have some moments.
As to the "ghosting", I think it may be due to the way the movie was shot with more emphasis on characters and action in the forefront while obscuring the background. I see it in the 2D version. In fact you can see it from the confirtation in the forrest to the end. In some scenes there's clear focus from front to back and some the depth of field is narrow. It's hard to make out-of-focus objects in to 3D without some slight ghosting appearance. Overall a prety decent film especialy for $20
Yeah so I bought that Harry Potter 3d experience from Target yesterday and didn't look at box, theres was a stripped down version that didn't imclude part I.
Thanks for the heads up. I just went and picked it up in the store last night. It was marked 29.99 but at the counter they reduced it to the promo price.
