Finally got a chance to watch it. I cant seem to find words that do the audio justice. This is going to be demo material for a very long time.

1st Movie - 2/5 stars
2nd Movie - 1/5 stars
3rd Movie - 0/5 stars

Yes it has great looking video and great sounding audio. However, as a movie it's just AWFUL!

I didn't think it was possible this could be worse than the second offering in this series, but I was proven wrong. Horrible pacing, terrible script, miserable and utterly stupid attempts at humor, non-stop yelling and screaming, poor performances, way too long, etc. etc. As a movie, this is unwatchable. I traded it in at my local Movie Stop for store credit.

Did you go into the movie about Alien Robots fighting each other based on a 1983 toy line expecting the godfather 2 type film?

Audio is the best thing I have heard. Picture quality is perfect as well. Cant wait for the special edition to be released.
Really interesting to find someone that thought the 2nd one was better than this one. Bay went out of his way in 2 to try to have too much humor. He always has humor in his movies like it nor not. But 3 is far better than 2. I would even argue it's better than the 1st one.

I don't know if it's the BD disc, the Oppo player, or the Onkyo system. I exchanged the movie for another one and it still does it at the exact same time frame.

Other than that, the audio is incredible.

Howdy - I just saw your post, and am having the exact same problem. Our common link seems to be the Oppo BDP-83. I'm on my third copy, all the same. I have an email to Paramount (waiting for a response), but I will check with Oppo as well. Have you had any luck finding a solution? Thanks...Jonathan

Gee, #1 wasn't that bad man. I'll agree with #2 (2/5). that is 40% after all...

So the choices are something equal to The Godfather or crap? Nothing in in the middle? I reject that. I also reject that a movie must be stupid, poorly written, and juvenile, just because it's based on a toy, a comic book character, or whatever. That's a choice made by the Writers, Director, etc.

The opening sequence at the Military Base in the first Transformers movie was pretty promising. If it had maintained that tone, it could have been a different movie. But from there it was downhill. And IMO the subsequent movies have continued the downward slide. I don't understand why Michael Bay chose to make these movies so goofy. Shallow and stupid characters, inane dialogue, and stilted humor thrown in haphazardly. I could go on, but there's no point.

I already said, and I agree, the picture and sound are excellent. But that's just not enough. That alone is not enough to justify sitting through 2 plus hours of a really poorly made film. Does it have some scenes that can be used as Home Theater demo material? Sure. But for me it's not worth having just for that purpose alone. There are many other action, and other, movies that provide both excellent video and audio AND an excellent story with good acting, etc.

I'm not trying to talk anyone out of their opinion. But I won't be talked out of mine either. If you like these movies, great, enjoy.

I've enjoyed all 3 movies, but the one bothersome item is the irrational screaming that Sam does. This is especially annoying when he takes Carly to NEST in DC after his encounter with the Decepticons.

I would agree with you 100% at the super lame attempts at humor and many of the characters. I couldn't believe how many people were laughing out loud at the theater. I do however love these movies for the visuals of the robots and special effects. I also really like shia lebouf in most everything he does

IMO, the "lame" humor is just part of these kind of movies. Look at Star Trek and Star Wars, both have humor added into them. Now rather one thinks it "lame" or not, that for each to decide, but these films are not like "Alien" or even "War of the Worlds". These are "feel good" summer movies, that you just go along with for the ride. If they have great robots, space ships, and awesome special effects, so much the greater ride it is.

Movies are fun to watch and bring fond memories of the original series back

If you expected transformers to be anything else than what it was, you prolly expected plots from Seven Segal movies as well

Yes you are right. I like to think that I'm taking these movies for what they are and not trying to turn them into academy award winning type flicks (except for perhaps in the visuals department). I guess it just surprised me how many people thought it was laugh out loud funny. Don't get me wrong, I did get a lil chuckle outta a couple parts of it, but the thing that keeps me wanting more transformers is the action and how good it looks and sounds!

I think deadpan would be a better word than lame. However I agree with everything you said.

I agree...the movie could have saved alot of time though without including the stupid parents.

It would probably be too hard to duplicate the first 2 seasons/cartoon movie onto the big screen but I wouldn't mind seeing something like that.

I agree, that scene was probably worst scene in the movie. One scream would have plenty, but 3 that was really annoying.

Indeed, there certainly is no comparison between Noland and Bay. Noland is a three time Oscar nominee and wrote and directed The Dark Knight, Inception, and Memento, which have been judged by most critics to be classics. Bay has received no Oscar nominations, for good reason, it seems to me, and his best films to date were the decent but far from great The Rock and Transformers.

Check out the show "person of interest" jon Nolan...chris nolans bro and writer of the dark knight. He created and writes this new show.

I have watched Person of Interest from the beginning and am enjoying it. Both Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson have been terrific, and the show's premise is intriguing. I give J.J. Abrams a lot of credit here, too. I am a big fan of his Fringe series and loved Lost as well. I also liked Abrams recent film, Super 8, a lot. Jonathan Nolan shared the 2002 Best Screenplay Oscar, for Memento, with his brother. It's clear that a lot of talent has been brought to bear on Person of Interest, I hope the show holds up.

I'm banking on super 8 to be my new subwoofer reference movie...with the train crash, aliens and mortar shells. Hopefully they will let the LFE fly.

Saw Super 8 at movie theaters twice, once here and again when I went with my son and his family in Milwaukee. It was a lot of fun both times but I liked it even more when I saw it on BD. The Super 8 BD's HD audiotrack is outstanding, I could feel the LFE in my chest during the train wreck scene. Unless I miss my guess, you will love the Super 8 BD, too.

The BD is already out and hasn't hit online yet...I'm shocked! All I have is a 2ch screener that doesn't do a justice

No, I think the Super 8 BD hasn't been released yet. Don't know why I thought I had seen it, other than that watching a movie from Blockbuster about every night confused me. I just checked online and confirmed that the Super 8 BD won't be released until 11 November. Sorry for the confusion.

So you don't have a copy of the super 8 blu?
