Just installed and have 1 dead pixel and bad pixilation on reds-any help would be great!
Where is the location of the dead pixel on the screen?
You can hook up a laptop and try to get it unstuck, try this? http://www.jscreenfix.com/

Which settings are you running?
Center right close to edge. Using standard mode with recommendations from this site. It looks perfect with blu rays and cartoon DVDs but reds and pinks are horrible on tv(sesame street, modern family, etc) a ton of pixallation

you will see lots of "noise" with red before a calibration. try suzook's or dagamepimp this should take care of the red issue. it did on mine anyway.
How will I find those exact settings on the site?
suzook's settings ;
I'm really Happy with these ,just to add that they look best when You set the scanning to "dot to dot" than the "over-scan" that is set by default

movie mode 4 Me !
haven't messed around with the setting much .
I put SuZooK's in got some RED push ,then set-up my HTPC & noticed a over-scan that was not the HTPC or the Video card doing the over-scan, went back to the manual figured out that the 632 had a different way of setting the scan features than my 60" 88UM did. found it . set the display to "Dot to Dot'
BooM the red push went away in all faces (except the Ginger's L O L ) .
I'll mess more when I get my new AVR I ordered today (Onkyo TX-NR1009)as the TX-NR5008 has to taken down. I must re-worked the IDE cable(know Fault with the Onkyo XX008 line ) . the 009's have a new video processor as well & I want to see how that looks (It's new that you can ISF calibrate the AVR processor)
I do like the Reon Processor in the 5008 (it make the DirecTV up-process to 1080P PoP ! )
... But I'm leaning on getting a "Radiance Mini" from Lumagen later this summer any way .
seen a Elite today @ Magnolia ..... sure like the 80" over it .. price & value the 832 80" is by far a better buy ( To Me @ Least )
Yeah the Elite might have the perks down by 10% over a 632 80" but @ that price the 632 80" Sharp is a better deal in my feeling by a long shot , add in the issues of the Elite's & the NoN-Issues of the 80" it's was a no brainer
( I M H O ) ...

I was putting up as many white screen & hockey I could find & my display has no DSE that I can see & I been looking Very Hard to find some for the last 2 days ,I've spend hours looking

I all ways let them set for a day , let your eyes get used to the change ,I learned years ago that setting the display & changing it was hard to tell the difference after 4 different settings in a session trying to calibrate .. I guess that's why the pro's rely on the machines
post #1572 of 3169
I'll try that and advise. Love the tv! thank you all

I think no matter what settings you use choose those most pleasing to your own eyes. But remember 6500k and a calibrated set is going to seem a bit dim compared to the torch mode most sets are left on. Many people, myself included probably at first will not like a properly set up tv. But once done and giving you eyes time to adjust you are seeing how close to reference (and what the director) intended you to see.

And fast your cave looks prime for bias lighting

Yeah been experimenting with that as we speak ! been placing some shop lights I got (small round 6" reflectors with CFL) for now ,That seems to look great but I know they are the wrong color ,but the back wall is all a Dark Red Oak so i'm not worried about the color of the lights all that much.
I'm gonna get some the new LED brite white spots & bounce them off the back wall . some of the new LED's are pretty cool , The City Of Novato just replaced the Sodium Vapor's out on the street with HD white LED's & damn they look nice as well as cheap to run . I got a solar photo array on the house so anything I can do to save wattage puts cash in my pocket !

That's wierd. Of course you see what you see, but View Type, such as Dot to Dot, Stretch, etc. control the scan only, not the picture color or hue. Just changed mine and absolutely no change in the picture, flesh tones. Don't know why that's happening on your set.

yeah, movie mode ,dot to dot & suzook's setting exactly as posted .
I'm not complaining at all ..... it looks stunning now & I think I'll keep as is for now . I'm gonna get the DIY calibrate gear & the Radiance Mini later this summer . I want to do my own Cal's as I'm always adding new gear , processors & don't want to keep having to pony up for a Pro Cal again & again.
That's the problem with Tinkeritus & Upgradyuois ......
I am gonna be keeping this Display for quite awhile , I am pretty Happy with it .

What is the best way/product to clean the screen?
Got my set in today. Still setting up. Here is what I have so far. The one picture is where all of my components are housed. It is a mess for now. That closet has components from 2 rooms. Home Theater and Rec Area (Basement). The Sharp 80" is in the Rec Area. It is friggin huge. And this is coming from a guy that has a 120" projector screen in the next room over.

Sorry for the blurry pics.

mine was delivered by 2 men who brought it into the livingroom & they helped take the box off . Make sure you inspect the display for damage BEFORE they leave & note on the bill any damage .Call US Appliance right then as well. This is Very Important !
I went so far as to add "unknown damage to inside parts " to my bill of lading to cover my butt on any damage I found after they left .
Remember you only have 24 hrs to report shipping damage back to US Appliance .
So inspection ASAP is required !

I'm hoping the delivery guys speak Lincoln, Hamilton, Jackson, FLUENTLY! I am set up for delivery tomorrow, and I need a little more help! I plan to just tell them what I want them to do, and offer them $$, then they either do the extra 5~10 minutes of work or no $$.
