Receiver/preamp/amp hookup questions.

Hi Everyone!
I have several questions regarding a setup I'm going to put together in the near future.
Here's what I'm looking to get out of this setup, in order of primary use:
1. stereo music
2. video games
3. movies

I'm planing on buying these speakers as the front left and right :

For the rest I'll use my old Polks:
Center

Rear:

Sub

Here's where I run into trouble. From what I know most receivers won't have enough power to run those Vegas ( I like to listen loud), so I'm guessing I would have to buy an amplifier. If I would go that route how would I go about connecting the amp to the receiver? Further more, in some distant future I plan on using those ve-15 as rear speakers and buy these babies:
http://www.cerwinvega.com/home-audio...s/xls-215.html
Now those xls's would require their own amp for sure, so how would I connect 2 amps to one receiver and still be able to have true 5.1 surround sound?
Should I be looking for a preamplifier instead of an all in one receiver?
If you have any suggestions on a receiver or preamp let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated even links will do.
My budget for a receiver is $1000-1500 max. Spec's that I'm looking for are:
Minimum 4 HDMI 1.4a (3d enabled), 5.1 surround sound, ability to listen to only the front two speakers.
Anyways, this is going to be my divorce present for myself Hurray for being single again!

Get the XLS215 for the mains, the other CV for the sides and use the Polks for the rears. Unless you are a really high SPL listener then most AVRs will power the XLS satisfactorily.

The XLS are very efficient so they actually need less power for a given SPL. Buy an AVR with preamp outs as that will allow you to add an amp later, but try it first and you might find you don't need it. Look at Emotiva for a suitable amp at a reasonable price or maybe a Yamaha P2500S; even though this has a fan, you'll never make it come on at home with those speakers.

You're also going to need a lot more capable subwoofer than that girly Polk thing.

Yep, at 95db sensitivity, you will not need much power at all to get deafening sound levels from those speakers! Virtually any receiver will be just fine.

How loud is loud, how big is your room?
For a $1 to 1.5K budget you can find a receiver with plenty of power for your needs.

Go to the receiver part of the forum and search title for $500 and $1000 and look at the discussions.

Mainly what you will find with receivers is that people will recommend what they have. So look at the brands and models mentioned, go online and look at the features and for reviews as they may mention details you might otherwise miss. Research these and see if you need or want that.

I currently have an Onkyo, and previously a Pioneer and both are/were great. But so are many Yamaha, Denon and Marantz units.
