But it COMPLETELY lacks any audio/video sync option, which renders it useless for people like myself who pass the audio through room correction FIR vst filters, which adds a delay.

Same goes for WinDVD - haven't tried Arcsoft Totalmedia as it crashes upon launch.

So I rip to full-SBS.

Most Receivers have a lip sync option for burried in the menu's somewhere.

Hey guys, can a fellow owner help me out. I am playing Uncharted 3 in 3D on my PS3 and am getting really bad ghosting/crosstalk. This happens mostly in the cutscenes and mostly with white sources (IE a white shirt). Sometimes I don't notice it all when playing, then BAM it gets bad.

My question is, is anyone else playing this on the 7000? And what are your thoughts? Any tweaks?

I see ghosting in Sonic Generations as well. Motorstorm is pretty much perfect and most of the movies I've watched in 3D have been ghosting/crosstalk free. So I think it is just certain games that have this problem.

Mine is installed at 13.5 and works very well, extremely bright, we also sit at the 13' mark and it looks great.

Projector is about 5 feet above me and I can barely hear the fan when in a quiet scene.

I had the exact same thing happen, especially in the dark alley scene when the whole gamg is together.

I think this is more the source than the 7000 itself. I tried playing with a bunch of things, brightness, contrast, lightness of the glasses, everything, and could not smooth it out.

IT did seem to diminish later in the game though.

I used the 3d on and off as I found it was causing me some eye strain in the darker scene, that and the visual quality pales in comparison to the 2d. Once I finished it I went back to some of the bigger action scenes to play them in 3d for fun.

My experience with 3d in games has been really hit and miss thus far. Motorstorm is fantastic, resistance 3 and Killzone suffer the same way UC3 does, the quality hit is substantial, you can see jagged edges everywhere and distant items / enemies look pretty rough.

I am guessing the PS4 is going to rectify this, I am hedging my bets on the PS4 supporting full 1080p resolution 3d, until then the experience may be pretty sub par at times.

Is anyone having issues with their projector fan being extremely loud in normal lamp mode? Mine sounds like a hair dryer and I can hear it from 10 feet away. I'm sending it back to projectorpeople to have them test it against another one. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue or if it was normal. My old Epson 8350 was much much quieter.

Mine is loud as well in normal mode... but it doesn't sound like there is a faulty bearing or something, just suspicious levels of noise due to air movement

I just realized the fan actually might work quite well as a hair dryer...

Thanks. Looks like being loud might be normal. The reviews on projector central and projectorreviews.com mention it being quiet normal mode.

Thanks for the reply, that makes me feel better. I will say that some sequences in Uncharted 3 are great in 3D, but overall I wasn't that impressed.

Here is a list of games I've tried on the 7000 so far:

UC3: Again, decent but lots of ghosting

Motorstorm Rift and Apocalypse: Best 3D games period...........amazing

Sonic Generations: Pretty good 3D, fun game, a tiny bit of ghosting

Gears of War 3: Decent 3D, resolution takes a big hit though

Batman Arkham City: 3D didn't really add anything to the game, plus it's pretty dark

By far the best 3D game is the Motorstorm series. They look great and are super enjoyable in 3D. It's almost worth 3D just for those games.

It's the video that needs to be delayed - and I'm not using a receiver. No dice.
Update: My receiver does 0ms, 20ms and 40ms audio delay. I found 20ms to be the best for Mode 3 Frame Creation and 0ms to be best for no frame creation.

A small problem on my 7000...

I have a denon 2311 and a panasonic bluray + a pc.

When i watch a bluray from the panasonic bluray player everything is ok.

But then when a watch a movie (matroska 1080p) from my pc i have a problem with the frame rate (once in a while) like drops. The strange thing is that when i see the movie in a "window" it is ok but when i switch in full screen mode i have the problem. Also when i double click and go to full screen the projector turns black and then opens again (like it is changing the input, is it normal?)

I have tryied both media player and vlc.My display settings are 1920x1080 at 60hz.

ANY THOUGHTS?

Is it interlaced or progressive signal? If it's interlaced switch [CINEMA REALITY] OFF in the image advanced menu.

I'm curious. What's the time depth of your FIR filter?

They're generated using Acourate - they're 16 bit 48khz, and in practical terms they require a video delay of almost a second.

So you're telling me the time depth is almost a second. That's very long.

1) What is the best audio delay time is for the different frame creation modes?
2) Can I set my PC that's hooked up to the projector to run at 120hz?

After some research, the answer to #2 is "no", since projectors don't accept 120hz input signals, they only cook up the extra frames after the source gets there.

The signal is progressive. In advanced menu i dont have an option for [CINEMA REALITY]...

Whatever settings i am using in FIR (Off or Mode 1) it is the same.

My display settings are 1920x1080 at 60hz, i tried to change it at 50hz but once in a while i still have the same problem (frame drops or something).I also used 23hz which is better in video but is it ok?I never before had the same problem with my previous projector. And from what i checked last night when i have my pj and tv turned on the tv is ok in the same scenes that i get the problem to the pj.

Fan noise increases with brightness mode. Also, the air flow and fan noise increase about 6 to 9dB in ceiling mode. It doubles again in high fan mode. Unfortunately, the reviews rarely address this. They adress the fan in best, or low brightness mode on a desk top. If you ceiling mount at high altitute the fan noise on this projector is very distracting.
I watched a star wars movie last night on normal and never once did I or anyone else find the projector to be loud enough to even be noticed and it's straight over my head 5 feet above. I wonder if some peoples tolerance to noise is just much less than me, or if some of the 7000's have some sort of problem.

You must go grab Super Stardust HD, it is hand down the best looking 3d on the system, makes Motorstorm look like Atari in comparison.

Another great one is Wipeout, very good depth of field.

Still waiting to try out Call of Duty Black Ops, but it is at a friends place.

I am curious too what Assassin's Creed will be like, will check back with a mini update on Tuesday.

BF3 unfortunately does not support 3d. Maybe on the PC, but not on the PS3.

Same goes for MW3, odd since Black Ops had 3d, but nothing for MW3.

Oh well, maybe the next one.

How did you find the color balance using normal? It's supposed to be about double the brightness of the cinema preset but with a little bit higher color temp and less red in the picture.

I've just installed Projecta HomeScreen 3D Virtual Gray screen. Watched Bolt and IMAX Hubble in 3D and short clips from several movies for comparison.

It's supposed to be 1.85 reflective, yet I didn't find 3D video any brighter than my older 1.0 screen. Actually I am pretty sure it was in fact darker. Am I doing something wrong? Normal color profile, lamp set to normal, glasses to light.
The screen is indeed gray and I don't have a problem with that, it improves contrast and blacks are blacker. But shouldn't high reflectivity improve brightness?

(Note I have a poor choice of screens available where I live, this is the only one I was able to find that was almost immediately available and over 1.0.)

This Is unlike a plasma or LCD tv which controls the black level in a closed environment.

There will always be room for improvement but not like from model to model a few years ago.

It was a big shock for me to learn that the black levels are not that good. After reading the AVforums reviews, I had the impression that the black levels were almost as good as the JVCs :-(

I think you should have checked out your screen choice a little better. This is the description I read:

3D Virtual Grey
Designed specifically for passive stereoscopic 3D front projection systems, 3D Virtual Grey is a flexible projection surface that retains 99 percent of polarized light.

The problem may be that you are using an active shutter projector and not a projector that is a passive 3D system. Your screen is designed for use with passive 3D projection and polarized eyeglasses.
