As the title says I have an Adire Audio Brahma 15" sub that I bought in high school for my car but only used for a month or so before my car died. So since then it has sat quietly in its box. (what a shame) Ive been out of the audiophile scene for a few years now and need some advice on good DIY brands.
Anyways I went to a James blake concert last week and he inspired me to get some bass back in my life so I'd like to build a box and power up my Brahma. I was thinking of going with a sealed box or a vented one tuned very low (~18-28hz). I have an old school Denon AVR-1700 reviever i'd hook it up to.
So the wonky thing about the situation is that my sub is a dual 2 ohm voice coil so I need a sub amp rated at 4ohm (or 1, but I dont think they make those for home theater, right?)
I dug up my old spec sheets and it recommends a 2.85 CuFt sealed box for a qtc of .707. In that box it needs 800 watts to reach x-max but I doubt I will be able to find an amp with that much power in my price range ($100-300) so I guess my question is what are some good brands to look into. Does anyone know of amps rated at 4ohm? feel free to add anything else too.
Thanks
