JVC DLA-HD1 / RS1 Replacement Lamps?

Hi,

I own an DLA HD1 and my lamp is now at 3700 hours. I'd like to replace it, but I'm searching all over the place and finding JVC lamps, OEM lampts etc. Do the owners in this thread have any recommendations for lamps? If I'm looking at results on the web, how can I be sure that they are the actual JVC lamps and not OEM ones?

I was always told to use the original lamp. I have had 2 replacements. I use the BHL-5009 and found AVS to be the least expensive. I have also heard that you can get the bare bulb and replace it in the existing housing which would be a cheaper solution. I have not tried any of the aftermarket.

I finally got a OSRAM replacement bulb to install in the JVC housing. Initial result is approximately 25% more light from a new JVC bulb. I will be watching its performance and hope to have time to analyze the spectrum and resulting colorspace.

Glenn: how has your experience been with the Osram replacement? Have an RS1 coming due for a new bulb. Is the osram easily installed in the JVC housing?

How to best get the Osram bulb?

I haven't had the projector on for a couple months ... been busy and also breaking in a RS65 for calibration. The bulb has performed great and I think it has been much better than the OEM. Haven't had time to calibrate it. The installation requires cutting leads from original bulb, installing wire terminals, getting screws to attach leads.
