I agree that the RW-12D is the sub to get when it can be purchased for $300 shipped! When not on sale at that low of a price its going to make a much tougher decision. This also pretty much confirm what I'm seeing in the Pl-200s in my room. I have one corner loaded, so I'm getting some extra extension, and I'm also crossing them over low (I'm back to a 40hz crossover) and boosting the sub channel a bit to get it flat to 25, but in my room after a slight dropoff it makes a little comeback around 22 hz before a slow drop to being about 9db down at 18hz. This also confirms what many people have said about this sub being better for home theater than competition in its price range since it does dig deeper than almost anything at that price. And as owners have stated, the upper range is all over the place on the PL-200, so that explains why it is not a good music sub when crossed at a typical 80 - 100hz. Good to see some in room numbers reflecting pretty accurately what people have described for both these speakers. So we have a clear winner now for the $300 price range. The 12D will provide a better overall sound. If you are in a position you can cross your sub low and want a little extra depth or don't want to wait for a sale, then the PL-200 makes a good alternative. Thanks Capricorn Kid and Archaea for putting this to rest for those who are looking for a sub bargain!!!
