Hey guys I am currently debating on which pre-amp or intgrted amp I want to use and would like to hear some of your comments. I will be using a CD player for the majority of my music and will also be streaming music through my Airport Express. With that in mind, here are my options for pre-amps:

Nad- 1020 series 20
Nad- 1155
Adcom- GTP400
or

Nad- 7220PE receiver
Rotel- RX950AX receiver

or I guess I could go with the EMotiva ERC-1 or something from Onkyo or Yamaha. I was just thinking that not only would it be cheaper to go with the Nad/Adcom/Rotel but that it might yeild better SQ?

Since you're looking at preamps and integrated amps, fairly different beasts, one having amplification built in and one not, is it safe to assume you have an amp to use with the preamp?

Yes I know they are different. I will be using a good amp, probably an emo or rotel.

I used a NAD 1130 with a Hafler XL-280, very good preamp, excellent phono stage. Should have never sold it.
