Are there any benefits to getting a VP seeing that Blu-rays are 1080P? I have a Pio 51FD connected to a panasonic pt-ax 100 by way of a HK 7550hd, using HDMI.

I only watch Blu-rays on my setup.

What say you?

Only for 1080i blu-rays that need de-interlacing.

There are benefits to some of the new processors beyond deinterlacing and scaling. In particular, the Lumagen processors and the DVDO Duo offer extremely powerful calibration controls.
