Angle the screen instead?

I've got a small theatre setup in our spare bedroom - so the dimensions are not ideal.
My problem is that my Optoma HD66 sits on a counter offset from the screen. while the screen sits on the wall.
The image is not square, of course, but it's not too terrible.

My idea was to take the screen off the wall - and hang it on an angle - with the closer edge being moved even closer, thus compensating for the image stretching on farther side of the screen.

(this also would allow me keep the screen against the ceiling when not in use.)

Has anyone tried this?

To some extent or another, I'm sure.

While I'm no Fan of "tilting, one can certainly "angle" a screen to perpendicularly match the angle of the lens face.

If the looks don't bother you (...one side being further from the wall...) then whose to say what you can and cannot do in the privacy of one of your own bedrooms.
