Hi guys
I'm new to this forum and just wanted to ask you guys to recommend a 3D TV.
Both my brother and I watch a lot of sports and heard that sports in 3D is really good. (I'm not sure how exactly that works... do they have like a separate 3D sports channel?)
Anyway my brother and I both watch NFL and my brother's also into UFC. If you guys have watched these on a 3D TV, please share! and recommendation of a good 3D TV would be appreciated too!
Thanks alot
- Jen =)

Mine is a Samsung PN59D8000 and I couldn't be happier. It's the first plasma I have owned (I was an LCD man). I game on it and do everything without worry about IR or Burn in. I have yet to experience IR with it and Plasmas so far are the best TVs for 3D performance.

Check it out on CNET as well as other TVs to get a good idea as to what they offer and make the decision for yourself.

You can get sports 3D channels. Which one depends on where you are.

Try Sky 3D for the UK, and ESPN for the US.

Some networks do one off broadcasts of specific events.

Sony Bravia hx729 55inch. Picture quality and 3d r amazing!

Anything that is a plasma with 600Hz subfield. A LCD, even at 240 Hz, still has annoying 3D artifacts at fast moving scenes.

Sony KDL-40HX803 - One of the best from Sony - a 40 thin model with a 40 inch LED screen giving high brightness and excellent colours.

just be aware that the 3D TV broadcast sports channels, if you subscribe to them.
are broadcasted side by side or one over the other. the quality is not that good but
it is 3D. a 3D TV enables you to use a menu to adjust for those pictures and will
make it a single picture. I did watch a LSU football game and it was good enough.
the 2D would be better for sharpness.
if you think you are going to watch the TV for 20 years.
buy the best you can get. the best one for 2D as well as 3D.
I had no intension of watching 3D and bought one anyway as it to me was about
the best one for 2D.
my research on CNET showed it to be the best one for using the lowest power to
operate. me believing in the future the costs of electricity will double or triple.
I went with a LED over the better picture plasma (according to gamers).
here in California they banned the large plasmas due to using over 400 watts
of power.
my LED uses near 65 watts when using low power settings in a dark room.
a sony 46" HX800 model.
if I had the home theater room many are recommending a projector for 3D.
food for though......

cnet has the power ratings for those they have tested.
note how much the plasmas use compared to the led.
you can click on the top column to sort the TVs by size.
