Moving the Kuro downstairs and need a 55" for multi-angle viewing of cable and possible blurays... been thinking about the Panny ST30, any other recommendations? Anyone have power consumption specs on this model?

Yeah, the 55GT30 or 55VT30 But the 55ST30 is the reigning best-bang-for-the-buck in this size range

The maximum power consumption for the 55ST30 is 397 watts, but in actual use it will average much less than that.

Are these available under $1000 anywhere? I thought I read $800 which seemed pretty low!

No way. If you see it for under a grand then it's probably a scam website. The 50" ST30 might be found for around a grand but not from any sellers that i'd risk dealing with.

The 50" you can get for that price but the 55" is going to cost you about $400 to $500 more.

Make sense to wait a few months see what new models brings? I'm not in a huge rush... basically just moving the Kuro and gear to a dedicated room and wanting to replace it with JUST a TV in the current living room.
