Yes it should. As should the older players. Were you having a problem with a particular model? If you give me more detail, I can look into it. All of our players should spin any attached USB drives down after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Our default movie metasource is TMDb. If your search (the movie filename) returns a single result on their site, then you shouldn't have to change anything. Typically this means naming your movies like this: "Some Movie Title (2011).mkv"

From metasource manager, you must select a valid scraper XML file (and associated icon image). The XBMC wiki has instructions on how to author your own scrapers, and if you search around you can find existing scraper.xml files to use.
